This would be the complete opposite of what they have said they plan to do. Brinker sounded a little disappointed that we weren’t able to trade down in day 3 to get more picks . So yeah we ain’t giving up picks for Hendrickson. Callidus, titanruss, Omar, and 1 other
Thumbtack
Too old and declining for our team, but yet is good enough to require a top 100 pick or multiple day 3 picks? That's hilarious. Realistically looking at a single late day 3 pick, and a two year extension to his current contract.

BudsOilers
What makes you think he would accept a 2 year extension? Or diving into what guaranteed money he wants on a market deal. It's a dumb idea. titanruss
titanruss
I think the asking price is just what they feel they have to ask... but he'd be much cheaper.

Giving him a two year extension signing him through 2027 is realistic for both sides and doable with our cap situation.

With Hendrickson, the big issue is that he'd cost a big contract after Garrett re-set the market plus a day 2 pick. Money in theory is doable but the problem is what will he be in a couple of years when the team presumably can contend AND trading future picks when they need to be stockpiling them. rns90

Trading a single late day 3 isn't going to hurt the team, that is laughable and an idiotic stance with the hit rates of those picks. The front office has been adamant about wanting to accumulate premium draft capital. No one is advocating trading a premium day 2 or early day 3 pick for him. Hendrickson is not going to reset the Edge market again after the Myles Garrett deal or even come close to that deal. That is also laughable. There is no reason why we can't be in playoff contention next year or the year after. It's just the same pissy pants pessimistic view point year after year. Why on earth do you think Cincinnati is going to trade a guy with back to back 17 sack seasons wanting a monster deal for a day 3 pick? The very reason they are having issues with the player now is over what he wants contract wise and they aren't going to just give him away.....With the CBA they have all of the leverage as he's under contract. I constantly get amazed how this place has so many stupid people on it. Justafan
BudsOilers
BTW one of the issues Hendrickson has with Cincy is that they only want a short term deal.....This idea he isn't wanting a monster Edge deal is wrong. IsntLifeFunny

If he holds out the Bengals still have to pay him $15.8 to sit on the couch.

They'll fine his ass, put him on the reserve did not report list, and he won't get his game checks that totals 16 M (he has 200 K in game day roster bonuses too). The CBA gives the team all of the leverage here.

Let's also not forget about Ramsey "back ailment" as well that healed over night as soon as he was traded. Edited May 13, 2025 by Thumbtack

It's laughable that fans are already expecting us to have a losing season when Ward could very well have a Daniels type impact in year one. You are delusional across the board. From your expectations of us having a miracle season like the commanders just had. To everyone expecting us to suck since we dont expect to win 14 games..... Toss in you act like because we have money to spend we should just use it. Guess what thats what ran did and it was a giant waste of capital. I was screaming till i was blue in the fact you dont use cap just to use it, have a realistic plan, no I was told. We have the cap why not use it? it rolls over. Spend it when you should on resigning key players to 2nd contracts. Not grandpa in the middle of a rebuild. Glaring need is the only thing you got right in this and hate to break it to you but you cant realistically fix everyrhing in one offseason and almost every team has at least a few obvious holes this time of year. Hell, for all we know jones plays better in our defense, Sweat makes the leap we all hope which free up jeff to have a career year and Femi comes on much fast than anticipated. Stranger things have happened. Tldr: Just because you want something doesn't mean its a good idea, your not 4, act like it. Thumbtack
