There's also no rule you have to draft a QB in 2025 and could find a similar prospect to Ward in 2026.

The issue is whether the stick and pick option be it Ward or Carter or Hunter is a great enough player to offset adding an additional 3 or 4 starters you'd be getting in a trade down haul full of day 1 and 2 picks.

Take the Bears example from 2023.  They traded down instead of picking Bryce Young and ended up with better options in 2024 with Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye.

Yeah but they also got the first pick. If you trade your pick to the Saints, you will not have a high pick. Saints will probably win 8-10 games with Ward due to their division and lack of tough teams on the schedule. You better hope your Titans are a top five pick again.

I'm totally fine with the Titans drafting Ward. Enough people think he can be good and he's shown enough NFL traits. It would not be like the Titans overdrafting Anthony Richardson or Trey Lance.

I’ve thought about the last paragraph within the last couple weeks. Unfortunately, there’s probably also going to be a few teams looking for their franchise QB as well, and they might not be willing to come off the pick next year.

If the Titans don't address QB this year, a top 5 pick is very very likely in 2026.  Not sure I buy NO as a 8-10 win team though whether they played Ward right away or rode Carr for a year.

There always are but I would not rule out the Titans being in contention for the #1 overall pick next year either - even if they stick and pick at 1.

I think the bigger issue is that it seems prospects like Ward, Caleb, and Daniels come out every year given how high end HS and CFB runs offenses and produces QB prospects.  It makes the sure bet prospect rare and almost all of the other 1sr round guys come in with some flaws/risks.

I truly believe Ward is more Daniels than people realize. They have that similar trait of elevating those around them and being an alpha.

Daniels was 2-4 against teams .500 or better. In season, 3-3 with wins against the Bears and Falcons. The Eagles without Hurts.

He didn't play that great against the Bears, Saints, and Cowboys. The Lions went 15-2 because of an insanely easy schedule. Their division games were back loaded. They were ripe to be knocked off.

Daniels is going to face a much tougher schedule next year. So let's see how he overcomes that.

Daniels was the loan bright spot on that team

I think with Carr I think Saints could win 10-11 games. Those first two weeks showed that and the week 10 game when Carr, McCoy, and Taysom were healthy. McCoy got hurt again in that game and the Saints held off the Falcons. Carr is more seasoned and is certainly capable of beating the likes of the Pats, Jets, 49ers, Cardinals, Titans, and Giants. They could possibly beat Miami, Chicago, or Seattle. That's 6-7 games there before the division. If they go for Cam, he's not going to win the extra one or two Carr can.

Yeah he was a difference maker, but he plays in a competitive division and it looks like the Giants are going to make it even more competitive again. They have QB stability and high draft pick. They usually always give the Commanders problems when they're decent.

I get you're a fan and follow the team closely but I don't see NO as a 10 or 11 win team.  The betting market has them right with the Titans at 5.5 wins - only Cleveland and the Giants are projected to have less wins at 4.5.

I doubt the saints win 5 to 7 games much less 10.

The saints have the worst cap, roster situation in the league

They do have the worst cap situation, but they still have enough talent on the roster to compete to win that division this year if everyone is healthy

Do they? Idk lol seems like maybe the worst roster in the league on paper to me. Maybe I’m forgetting people but I don’t think so

They had a real drop off when Carr was hurt. They went 5-5 with him at QB, 0-7 without him.

Plus Olave and Shaheed both missed tons of games. I’m sure there were others. Not that there won’t be injuries again this season, of course, but they do have decent talent on that roster.
