oldschool
The narratives are out of control. I'm surprised Carthon can get out of bed and dress himself each morning! WG53

Does anyone see this ending well for him? Honestly they should just fire him. It's not like they don't have an Assistant GM, Director of Personnel, Director of Pro Personnel, and Director of College Personnel. titanskick8851, rns90, and OILERMAN

oldschool
I get that some don't like Carthon but come on. Now we are acting like Brinker is the shadow GM because he took a call from the Seahawks GM about Jones? You guys know how this works... you reach out to your contacts to start a conversation and then you get the right people involved to make the decision. This idea Brinker is correcting Carthon's mistakes and making trades against his will is next level conspiracy shit.
BudsOilers
Schneider did go the right person. If not, we'd still have Jones finishing up his Titans tenure and ready to get out of town.

Do you actually think if Brinker wasn’t there that Carthon makes the call and initiates those conversations?
oldschool
Just now, rns90 said: That’s not the point. Do you actually think if Brinker wasn’t there that Carthon makes the call and initiates those conversations? Trades always start with one team reaching out to the other and I'll promise those conversations don't always start GM to GM. Carthon can't win with you guys. Flipping Jones, who clearly wasn't in the long term plans, was widely viewed as a good move by Carthon but now we have to act like he wasn't really willing to move him and that Daddy Brinker had to do something to correct the mistake of trading for Jones in the 1st place. You guys are just being silly and its multiple good posters who are doing it which is the frustrating part.
BudsOilers
Honestly if you go back to acquiring Jones, doing so without an extension or reasonable path to one was insanely stupid. Fixing the mistake and getting a day 2 pick back was smart. LOL thinking that was a Carthon move. Of course it was Brinker. Supernope

They initiated it. Edited January 3, 2025 by Starkiller
BudsOilers
But would Ran have figured out how to answer that call? Not a given. Supernope
TerryBoats
Schneider has made some of the shittiest trades of the past decade. A good GM would have gotten a couple of 1sts for him, easy. Edited January 3, 2025 by TerryBoats
BudsOilers
Schneider has one of the worst trades in getting Adams and one of the best in trading Russ. If he doesn't fix their interior OL, people will be screaming for his head. They already are to some extent.

AussieTitanFan08
Would seem contract talks between the Seahawks and Jones have broken down. https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1875621344228065339
