Personally would rather have NPF and Duncan as swing tackles.

Duncan is worse than Dillard but at least has a lot of room to grow.

Just speculating. I have no real interest in keeping Dillard. I just thought they were going to get something like 7-10m back (can't remember the figure) by cutting him post june 01st and I guess I just never caught the injury clause. That's a bummer. I don't think it will really affect how much money they have because I don't think they'll try to spend every cap dollar anyways but it might be the difference in how they view some FAs

Wow. Didn't catch that. So they'll only save 3m by cutting him? Might explain why they haven't. For 3M, you might as well keep him as a swing T.

No, they will owe him $6M more if they don’t cut him. He will be cut.

3M is already guaranteed. According to over the cap, they'll save 2.8 by cutting him.

They will pay him a $9M salary this year if they don’t cut him. They are on the hook for just $3M in guaranteed money if they do cut him.

I don't know where you're getting that number from. He counts 7,792,000 against the cap, not 3.

You are conflating his base salary and cap number.

No, you don’t understand the value of the salary cap vs real world money.

If they cut him they will pay him just the $3M guaranteed this year and then they will be off the hook. The dead cap will hit this year and then he’s no longer a dead cap hit next year.

If they keep him they will pay him an additional $6M in salary in 2024. And not only will that $6M be added to the cap but he will still be on the books next year (assuming they cut him in 2025) as still more dead cap.

Wonder if we would have any interest with Rocker and Wilson having experience with him. Would fit as part of the rotation. Might be best to see if they cut him.

I can’t see him being cut. Traded maybe, but he has too much trade value to just be cut.
