Starkiller Posted January 16, 2024 Author Report Share Posted January 16, 2024 (edited) So I’d assume Haley will come in a distant but clear 2nd to Trump in Iowa tonight, and then again in New Hampshire (as no one likes DeSantis), setting her up as the non-Trump candidate. But then when her home state of South Carolina votes for Trump over Haley then everyone will realize that the race is over. But DeSantis won’t drop out because his only chance of winning was always if Trump was either declared ineligible as an insurrectionist or convicted of a felony or something else that throw him unconventionally. If one of those things does befall Trump then his supporters will turn to DeSantis probably in a brokered convention. The first hard truth and this was hard for me, I gotta admit this, but we’ve looked at it every which way. And I think it is true that we did not achieve the surprise that we wanted to deliver tonight,” he said at his campaign’s watch party in Des Moines, Iowa. Ramaswamy then formally endorsed former President Donald Trump, the projected victor of the Iowa caucuses. As an incumbent it's bad news how many voters who voted for him in 2020 voted against him in this primary.
