100p it would make a difference. When you conflict a defence you gain a massive edge.

If we played rock, paper, scissors and I knew you threw rock 60 percent of the time, I would throw paper 100 percent of the time and win.

well yes it would make a difference...shouldn't have said it WOULDN'T make a difference.

but you make my point with the idea that it would give us a massive edge over the opponent.  You are overblowing the effect it would actually have.  I don't doubt it gives you a edge...maybe even more than a slight edge but it also come with additional risk compared to handing the ball off to Henry.

And if you got 22 first down plays (I think that is about the average per game) and run 11 and pass 11 you are at 50%....change 2 of those passes to runs and you are at just about 60%...2 plays.

I don't disagree with the idea that the Titans should stive for more balance but I don't think it will create this monumental change in the outcome of games.  At the same time it shouldn't be ignored.

Im more interested in trying to find the reason the Vrabel and JRob choose to ignore it and what they see that we don't see.

Rock paper scissors....sorry but just don't really see the comparison there.  Obviously many more variables in the game of football.

Let me try to simplify it a little more for them

Tannehill + Good Blocking + Good Receivers = 2019/2020 Tannehill

Tannehill - Good Blocking - Good Receivers = 2021 Tannehill

You would think this shit should be common sense.

It's also a lot about scheme and how much downing runs his cluttered route concepts on some plays and according to the podcast... they limited what they allowed the QB to do on 3rd downs. I'm not sure how that compares to the Smith years at OC. Maybe smith did some similar where he dictated... but he just didnt Robiskie it up like Downing did and cut the field in half and then reduce available routes... forcing tight window throws just as much as WR talent does.

Lewan gets beat inside a lot. By chipping, he doesn't have to cheat that step to the left and leave the inside open. Knowing he has help over there allows him to stay balanced.

should be better a full year removed from the injury.

Reading the comments about the podcast, I think a lot of people didn't even listen to it.

They just regurgitate their usual talking points.

its weird when most of the comments arent even touching on what was said.

The comparison is that a team throws out personnel and plays. If you know a team will run a certain play out of a certain formation, it makes it easy to counter. Hence if I know you’ll throw rock majority of the time, it makes sense to only throw paper. While you’ll win some of those eventually you’ll lose more than you win.

Same for the titans throwing a run out the majority of the time. It allows a team to just play the run most of the time. Henry will break off runs but eventually it will fail because your success rate versus personnel and plays picked for the run will be low.

This is all without acknowledging that yards per play are much lower running versus passing.

He directly stated the Titans only have but three receivers available because the TE can't get enough distance to be effective.  Now why?  Follow me.  The TE has to help one of the players.

Responses::We run too much.  We should throw the ball on 1st down.  We don't throw enough.

The thing about running on 1st down into a stacked box is it puts pressure on the offense

Pretty much.  They ask Tannehill to bail them out again and again in obvious passing downs.  It really makes no sense.  Plus it puts pressure on an OL whose strength wasn't pass blocking.  I do think they will be better at pass blocking , how much so is the question.

Are these because they don’t trust Tannehill’s field reading capacity? Because the protection wasn’t good enough to allow for those play calls?

Quessenberry and Sambrailo feeling so vindicated. Lewan is playing for his job. Makes sense he’d drop social media.

Lol on thinking that Tannehill might be a VY half field QB…

Big question from me is did they simplify the offense because of Tannehill or the OL?

If it’s the OL, did they do enough to improve the offense so they can desimplfy the offense this year?

I think there have to be ways to get the ball out faster that don’t require relying on two or even one man reads on half the field…

The part about TEs helping Lewan was really interesting. I wonder if anyone can confirm that considering how terrible the right side of the OL was in pass protection last year. It doesn't make sense to help your best pass protector with a remedial player on the other side.

I said this all last year if you looked at te tape Lewan was getting killed week in and week out.  He is very cuttable if he flops again this year.

At this point you have to treat his takes on Tannehill/QB's as comedy.  It's that ridiculous.

Even if you dont think it... if you listen to the podcast, on 3rd down, we did limit to half field a lot.

We also didnt have a slot/underneath guy we trusted that would help that. We chipped a lot with backs and TEs that eliminates a good bit of quick catches.
