Bullshit.  He said in 3 and 6+ they were setting up the offense so they could say Tannehill, this is where we want you to go with the football.  Cossell addressed the fact that people can say what they want about Tannehill and that conversations happen behind closed doors but he did NOT insinuate that those conversations were had concerning Tannehill.  This is straight up disingenuous.

They key reciever is always where they want a QB to go.. on any play. Forcing him to almost no options is different - like i said a few times now - for a number of reasons (lack of trust in protection, recievers, QB decisions, scheme, or OC ego

We can listen again if needed but of course you'd call bullshit on the ambiguous hypothetical he said like 3 times ...while ignoring that he still had everything laid out for him simply and he threw the ball on half-field 1 read PA pass without looking to start a playoff game- kinda proving the point that if he needs help or not he still fucked up on a simplified read when it mattered most....showing a reason trust issues could be there if they do exist.

WTF are you talking about?  They aren't discussing a 1st read key WR.  They are talking about a predefined read.  If you don't know what you're talking about, you shouldn't comment.

Yeah no shit.

They always have a guy they want the ball to go to on any play. A normal play or a predifined read. If its all predefined theres no trust... But you still, when recieving options are limited, have the option of running or throwing it away. He did neither.

Maybe if they have a replacement ready.

But on the assumption that the championship window is still open and Lewan plays well this year, I can’t see them trading or cutting their starting LT without a reliable replacement already lined up. Some sort of contract extension to lower his cap hit seems more likely.

It will be interesting to see what happens next year.  He is scheduled to make nearly 15 million next year.  If he doesn't play well enough for the Titans to want to extend him, what would another team trade for him?

I think Lewan is one of the few guys out there who would actually give a hometown discount to stay here; he comes from a fairly well off family, has made a good chunk of money, and he's obviously setting himself up for a post football media career and has a sizeable following around here. He also met his wife here and has a young family.

No, that’s Downing’s offense. It has nothing to do with trusting Tannehill. It’s like you hear things smart people are saying, ignore them, and then draw your own conclusions anyway based on whatever you feel.

Again, it would be better to simply not comment than to spread misinformation and get called out for making things up.

The irony of all of this is that Cossell was highlighting the flaws in the Titans offense last year. Not Ryan Tannehill. If anything, this is a defense of Tannehill and helps explain the drop in production and myriad other issues last year.

You want to hear what he's said about Tannehill specifically in the past? You won't like it.

Cossell points out flaws in EVERY QB.  Yes, he’s said unflattering things about Tannehill in an honest attempt to evaluate what he is.

Which is exactly why it’s so fucking obvious when ya’ll try and twist all of that to fit some ridiculous narrative that isn’t close to what he’s actually saying.

Hell, Cossell absolutely destroys the dumb argument you’ve been having for a year now and yet here you still are.

Oh god ... he's essentially said he's in a defined system, "similar to a Baker Mayfield" (yes, he's better than Baker Mayfield before you try to move the goalposts)

He's also said we make defense bite on play action because we use "run action" in our PA plays. Essentially confirming our strong run game opens things up for Tannehill and our offense. Another dumb debate.

So while, I agree in an ideal world we would make things easier for Tannehill and third down. This offense is actually created to make things easier for him.

So you want to agree with Cossell? Go ahead.

Our offense uses our strength, the run, to prevent third and longs and therefore helps Tannehill. However, when it doesn't work ... yes, it puts him in a bad spot.

Why do you insist on making EVERYTHING about Ryan Tannehill?  The conversation Cossell is having is a criticism of the design of the offense.  It only has to do with Ryan Tannehill because he happens to be the QB running it.  So why do you do it?

Easy... because you have this stupid agenda that Tannehill is basically Mariota and the offense just (BEYOND ALL ODDS) happened to take off under Henry at the EXACT moment that Ryan Tannehill just happened to take over as the starter.  It's dumb and the results are obvious, yet here we are still arguing the same dumb argument 3 years later.

Tannehill might be top ten, he might be top 20.  It's fucking irrelevant.  He can succeed in the right system and WE KNOW THIS because he's demonstrated it over 2 COMPLETE seasons of football and against very good teams.  So why are we talking about Tannehill at all when we should be talking about how the Titans failed to install a good offense last year and what they are doing about that this season.

1. You're literally the one who made it about Tannehill LOL.

2. Don't move the goal posts.

3. You agree with Cossell here?

No.  You guys do this bullshit over and over and over again and everyone is sick of it.  Have a real conversation or go away but I'm not gonna go back and forth with you AGAIN over this stupidity because you want to save face over an argument you lost three years ago.

I wasn't saying much in this thread, saw you talking about Tannehill regarding Cossell and chimed in. You could've not said anything about Tannehill ... you chose to, I rebutted.

I then backed up my claims when you tested its validity.

It's obvious you either didn't expect his comments or don't like them. So now you're having a temper tantrum trying to make it about something else.

You brought this on yourself.
