It’s not conventional, but it’s all a matter of what they have to say. If they were to attack Biden then it’s a clusterfuck. If they support him then it should be fine. We live in a world of people getting media from niche sources. If a bunch of liberals listen to Tlaib's response and a bunch of black voters listen to Allred's then so be it. These speakers have a largely targeted audience, unlike Biden. And if they can reach those voters to drum up support for Democrats in the midterms then we should encourage that. Most of the country isn’t going to hear these responses anyway. Hell, I don’t know what percentage of people even watch the SOTU itself anymore. tgo
Starkiller
Biden should push the CTC and BBB again (or something similar) in the SOTU speech in light of inflation and oil prices rising. Get that message in front of the American people in a forum where it isn’t filtered through right wing commentary. Jerry Blair

Titans279
I guess because this is not a "response" but a "perspective" that the "centrist democrats" here get a pass from the media? Axios really put out this quote in a newsletter even though No Labels is doing the same thing.

Mostly because of the situation in Ukraine. \ I think that these responses just don't really matter in the modern day anyway. Not sure how much SOTU matters other than to us political freaks. tgo

I don't think very many people watch the SOTU anymore. And an even smaller percentage watch all the responses. I didn't even have time for all that shit when Trump was president, and I follow it very closely.
pat
I'm gonna propose that the Democrats don't need to be a monolithic bundle of shills for the authoritarian of the day. In my opinion complaining about seeing disagreement is basically complaining about democracy. Now when you can see a speaker always aligned with a particular party, you can see who's payroll they are really on regardless of claims to being on the left or right. If you protested the Iraq war and aren't protesting Russia's invasion of Ukraine.... lots of apologists for Putin looking like asses right now. Titans279
I hope they do something. The problem is Sinema doesn’t want the new taxes Manchin requires to pay for things. Could be an unsolvable dilemma. Edited March 2, 2022 by Titans279 tgo

Popular Post OILERMAN
Trump did everything he could to lift Russian sanctions while president. Trump said he had spoken with Putin about “forming an impenetrable Cyber Security unit”. Trump personally froze $391 million in US military and security assistance for Ukraine in mid-2019. Trump said he believed Putin over US intelligence There is way more BTW Suckered uninformed partisan Trump supporter: "Biden ain't gonna do nothing about Putin destroying Ukraine!, Durrrrrrrr!!!! Instead of this, the intelligent response is that this is one poll and it’s an outlier for now, so it’s very silly to subscribe to the narrative in that tweet. It’s no surprise the narrative is coming from a Democratic consultant on Twitter, or that it was posted by a Democratic propagandist like @tgo
