Anyway, it doesn't matter because he won't be in range to draft.

He was originally a top 3-5 pick before his disappointing junior year was cut short by injuries, but after falling he should be back in the top 10 now.

I've said quite a few times that in this defense it's all about size. There's a reason the Pats & Ravens consistently bring in huge interior DL. We run a pretty traditional 3-4, there's a lot of 2 gap, stuffing the run is crucial, gap integrity is important. They don't want DL just shooting gaps & going upfield with reckless abandon.

That said there's certain players you adjust your defense for, and Ed Oliver is one of them. The kid is a total freak....look at that workout. A 7.1 3 cone & 4.1 shuttle. Just insane. If we have the chance to get him JRob runs to the podium & we run much more cover 2 & 3 next year with Casey & Oliver shooting gaps all game. He's too good.

That said, I don't think he makes it past Tampa if they cut McCoy. He's the ideal 4-3 3 tech.

Sweet baby Jesus... faster than Barkely, Bell, and Jones?

That can't be right.

I think he could play OLB for us, at least on early downs & then move up to the DL on 3rd down. He really reminds me of a thicker Brandon Graham in some ways. Graham was 6'1 268 when he came out, ran a 4.72 & had over 30 bench reps. He's not a traditional edge rusher but he's a bull rushing monster with his natural leverage.

I can see Oliver being a 3rd down interior rusher this year & then when Wake is gone playing OLB on the early downs & then playing DT on 3rd down. Dudes a stud.

He's like Pernell McPhee from the Ravens, OLB on early downs then inside rusher

Tampa is running the 3-4 now under Todd Bowles I'm pretty sure.

I saw this article, and the author made a really good point about Robinson valuing quality over quantity in regards to draft picks. The article talks about after having built depth through the first few drafts, last year's was more along the lines of Robinson's train of thinking.

https://titansized.com/2019/03/29/tennessee-titans-nfl-draft-theory-quality-quantity/

These are the thoughts and facts that keep coming to my mind when people dismiss the idea that the Tennessee Titans could trade up in the 2019 NFL Draft. Not only could the move up, but I think there is a good chance they should and will. I would much rather give up a 4th and a 6th round pick to move up a few spots and grab Ed Oliver and Erik McCoy, instead of sitting back and waiting for guys like Christian Wilkins and Elgton Jenkins. That isn’t a knock on either Wilkins or Jenkins, the point is that the cost of moving up for better players and better scheme fits is more about the perceived value of those picks rather than what they would actually do for the Tennessee Titans roster.

Now it will probably take more than a 4th and 6th to move up far enough to get Oliver, but I mean what do you guys think? If we identify someone like Oliver as a game changer defensive player as he's being touted, does it matter if we give up some draft capital?

Definitely drool at the idea of pairing him with Casey. It would be people in Luck's face the whole game. Can this guy move for 275 lbs or what? In hail mary time, send Casey and Him against the opposing O-line and they will still run out of time.
