HARRIS IS BLACK Quote Biden also has the Obama connection. Point being - it’s not all name recognition. But it is the primary factor right now. Quote Pete - as much as I like him, has little going for him to attract minority support or interest- while having several factors against him. As for Pete, why is him being gay an excuse for black people not supporting him? Is Beto gay? Is Castro gay? What about Yang? We know Rolltide thinks Booker is gay so I guess that’s why he isn’t polling well among black voters. Him being gay isn’t what is holding him back. I don’t know if being gay is a prominent factor with him yet. I think his primary problem is that his platform, background, demographics (middle class white guy) all are completely uninspiring and not attractive to minorities. Add in his local police issues and it’s all adds up to too much for him to likely overcome. Name recognition is a distant issue for him / I think. Name recognition is what gave the leaders (primarily Biden) the lead up front. And there hasn’t been much of anything that has altered the dynamics of the race yet. Warren has slowly built. Harris popped and then dropped back. But otherwise the polls have been pretty stable for months. There are too many candidates and not enough air to go around. The debates so far don’t give anyone enough to do anything but go for sound bites. So it’s overwhelmingly been based on name recognition thus far. As people drop out hopefully that will change. Why was Hillary dominating Bernie among black voters? Was it because of vast policy differences on civil rights? Was it because Hillary carried hot sauce in her purse? Was Bernie gay? No, Hillary had the name recognition and the black electorate loved Bill. It’s not complicated, regardless of what you think. As for Pete, the fact that he is gay is way less of a drag on him among black voters compared to race relations issues in South Bend after the cop killed a black guy and problems started coming to light. You clearly have no idea how either demographic views LGBTQQ at the macro level. It's a huge issue no one wants to talk about because it leads to an uncomfortable place. Name recognition is a big part but not all. Biden has a unique place in the moderate and safe category. Pete shot up and lost steam. Warren is the only one moving. The rest just haven’t distinguished themselves

I cant even respond to weak Bernie vs Clinton name recognition point. Its beyond laughable.

If he was not gay, you think he would be... where? 10%? 50%? 145%? Exactly what percent of the black vote does he lose specifically because he is gay? Starkiller
Feel free to check out the graphic in this article about black voters polled on the candidates in May (a month after he spiked): https://www.axios.com/2020-democrats-poll-black-voters-a55fb38d-3907-47d7-9978-b8f7a8c2f112.html It literally says 47% didn't know who the hell Pete Buttigieg is. 21% like him. 27% don't like him. But half had never even heard of him. And they didn't even count the "not sure" responses, so his name recognition was even lower than the graphic shows. Who are the only 2 candidates who had less than 10% (hell, even 20%) response of not knowing who that is? Biden and Bernie. The 2 candidates with the best name recognition. Oh, but nevermind, it isn't because of exactly what this poll says is the problem. It's obviously because he is gay...

The youngest man ever elected president was Kennedy at 43 and that was at a time when the median age in the country was almost 10 years lower than it is now. The median age in 1960 was 29.5. Now it is 38.5. Bill Clinton was 46 when he won in 92 and he had grey added to his hair to look more mature. To ignore this and be talking about charisma and other bullshit is stupid. The guy is 37 and looks 30. There was quiet a bit of talk about his age in the media, and some in this thread as well. I'm not even sure why this thread is still going. I liked Buttigieg, but he's not going to make it. He's a potential VP choice, but I have my doubts.

IsntLifeFunny
What a fucking idiot. The story says Joseph was sent an angel telling them to flee to Egypt. The newborn was taken with his mother and father who fled Herod into Egypt as refugees. Fuck off Tux.
