bizzyeddie
They never came here but I thought schaub would have been a good get out of Atlanta...not great but better than what we ended up with..he could've been McNair's replacement Also wanted mccardell when he was leaving jax
charleytolar
I wanted DeMarco Murray when he left the Cowboys and went to the Eagles. As I recall, that is about the time we were relying on Bishop Sankey to come through.

It was clear he shoulda been the pick. Rodgers and Dinger would have been great well for a year or two..

Instead Floyd got in on the Daunte Culpepper sweepstakes & I believe actually made a slightly better offer then Miami but Culpepper preferred Miami. His career looks way different if he went elsewhere.
nine
If you'll recall, Brees very nearly became a Miami Dolphin...but their team doctor advised them not to sign him due to the uncertainty surrounding Brees' shoulder injury. I'm not criticizing the doctor...it was a significant injury and a very legitimate concern. But consider the impact his opinion had on the past decade of American football. Had Brees gone to Miami, then the Dolphins likely end up being one of the NFL's most successful teams over the past decade. Nick Saban probably stays in the NFL for the rest of his career and never goes to Alabama.....and one of the most remarkable chapters in college football history is never written. It's just funny how things work out.

japan
Brees struggled for the first 3 years of his career, then they drafted Rivers and he flipped the switch in SD going 27TDs to 7 INTs and 24TDs to 11 INTs. He would have continued that trend if they hadn't gotten rid of him. Gates grumbled for years about them letting him go.

He was doing better. He wasn't relying on the checkdown as much as before. But he was no where near the vertical passer he became in New Orleans. They've been the leader in yards gained at least half of the time during the past decade, and nobody can really name many receivers or RBs who they have had. Brees became a completely different QB in NO. And he decided that the best thing to do would to become a more run-heavy team, and they did so with flying colors. James Jones gives Rodgers all of the praise in the world, and owes much of his success to him, but he stated that he would have loved to play in NO, due to how sophisticated and effective that their play design was.
