You take the goal 10 out of 10 times. Sad way for it to end. What a run for the Preds and the city. Certainly got my attention. I plan on getting to a game next year. heyitsmeallen
According to the NHL rules the Preds goal should have counted.

I hope that ref's plane crashes on the way home. Everyone else on board the plane walks away from the crash of course.
Opus74
Here's the downside of the championship being played on home fields/arenas as opposed to a neutral site: You get to watch the other team celebrate the championship in your house. That is painful.
Vintagerobots
Delanie walker was at Rippys right before the game and I got a picture with him. So at least I have that going for me

That didn't apply since the whistle was blown before Sisson tipped it in; it was a terrible call and I'm not trying to defend it, but the whistle had blown and there is no way to determine if the whistle blowing had affected the defender's effort (even though it clearly didn't). It only could be overruled if the shot had already been taken place and a whistle occurred freezing it before it trickled through the goalie's pads (that's the culmination part). Since the whistle blew before the tip in, the play, by definition was not continuous. This play happens frequently throughout the season and it's ruled the same way every time, whistle blown, no matter the degree of error in blowing it, the play dies at that point unless it's already left the stick. They actual rule states the play is dead at the point the ref is in the process of blowing the whistle and there are times they kill it even before the whistle; all it takes is the ref deciding he has lost sight of the puck and starting the process of blowing the whistle. Sucks I know. Preds staff is fully aware of the rule and sure as hell would have exercised their challenge if there was any way it technically could have been overruled. El Guapo
Random Thoughts. Great run by the Preds. Good pub for Nashville. Luke Bryan does suck. Don't know what Mark Howard will pontificate about now. Now it's time for Football!!!
scine09
Wow that's an awful call. Football equivalent? The Titans had a game taken away from them against the Colts in 2012 when Dwayne Allen clearly fumbled and they blew the whistle calling it forward progress when it was clearly not that. The Titans would have been set up deep in Indy territory for the winning field goal.
