Holy shit Titans fans take the cake.  We get the #1 pick...bitch, bitch (I agree with Face it's not the best year to have #1, but we FUCKING HAVE THE #1 PICK! I know that means we're the worst but with this team sometimes you gotta enjoy the Unicorn Rainbow cone.

Webster sucks; enter new GM.  One month into FA...where are the high profiles what's with this building depth and the such?

What's all this talk about trading the First?  He said this to the press.  Now he's saying this. (Yeah the NFL has never been a circus)

Bunch of whine Nancys

Maybe he just says this because EVERYBODY KEEPS ASKING ..J ROB WHAT YOU GONNA DO WITH THAT PICK.

Now everybody knows ..not begging ,every year teams do this same thing ....

If your picking #1 and you have a Qb and nothing in this draft is worth taking #1  your going to want to move back ..

This has nothing to do with amateur hour.  Webster said the same thing last year at #2

He told us to expect smoke. Nothing he says after that matters and I agree that GMs don't negotiate through the media so much. Webster, on the other hand, was the one who told you exactly what he was going to do and hid nothing. He rarely even tried.

With that said,  Robinson probably is learning on the job to an extent. Oh well. GMs get judged in the long term based on team building and how players develop heading into contract two and beyond. We don't even really know his team building philosophy... how he values FA and the draft, trade up/down or sit still, acquire picks and refresh or keep who he has, what positions he considers expendable versus valued, etc etc. We don't even know if he's going to be anal retentive about offset language.

There's nothing to really judge him on yet, even in a gut-check sort of way. After the draft we can start talking about what sort of GM he is... but even then it'll be mostly nonsense.

Man some of you can never be happy:

"Wah we need to trade back picking one is the suck this year!"

"But wah, we need tons and tons of picks or we will feel stupid and lok stupid!"

"But wah why is he telling people we want to move back, he sounds desperate!"

"But wah we should totally do everything we can to move back, so long as we get a king's ransom of draft picks and we don't look desperate and ESPN approves!"

Would that include your skepticism of him as a GM due to the fact that he was agreeable in bringing back Mularkey? B)

I'm not really skeptical of him as a GM, per se, but I don't think he comes in with the power you'd want (had no true input on the coach) nor does he appear to have a backbone. Potentially those arise as issues before he solidifies himself in the organization, potentially not.

Apart from undesirable position within the organization, I don't agree that "willing to do anything because it's his dream job" is a good thing. It introduces risk of impaired judgement. Again, potentially that never really materializes... but when he's praised for that dream job quality, I'll contradict the praise.

The Titans made it clear upfront that the GM would not be the boss of or hire the coach.  The GM would however need to be able to work effectively with the HC to be successful in rebuilding the team.  The Reese/Fisher setup or how Seattle does it now with Schneider and Carroll.

The fact that the guy is willing to be flexible in working with a PEER and that the job was his dream one (GM of his home team) is seen as a knock on him is comical.

Time will tell whether the hires were good or not.  Robinson needs 2 or 3 years to fairly judge him.

I disagree that he is acting amateurish.  This #1 is going to be very difficult to trade out of.  No doubt we want to, but with no superstud QBs, he is working to keep the Titans desires at the forefront of everyone's minds.  Not like there is a Luck or a Manning available to get with the #1.

What is the worst thing the team has done, in your opinion, in the last 365/6 days?

The worst thing probably would be allowing the HC at the time to put the QB at risk with a crappy RB and OL group.

Right now, I have a clean slate with the team.  They made changes in leadership, which pretty much everyone wanted.  Now we have to see if it works or not but the new hires deserve some time to fix the team.

Crying about the process and nitpicking every little thing doesn't really do anything, especially when the on the field product is months away.
