Hope for a bidding war for Goff and a trade down

Lynch bombing at the bowl game may have helped. If Goff can create a lot of separation where he's clearly the #1 QB it'll help. I could see SF being a potential trade partner.

Fuck this franchise has done it in the past.  Stewart and Jon Runyan both were 4th rounders.  We signed Fred Miller in FA to replace Runyan.  We drafted a whole bunch of competent interior OL prospects in the mid rounds in the past.

It can be done.  It's just that Webster can't identify quality OL and the scheme under Whiz sucked.

Yeah, but we need a starter NOW. We can't wait to develop a starting RT.

There are some FA options at RT.  That's where I would look to sign someone (Schwartz or Andre Smith would be my choice).

Wouldn't they have to sign him to a 3,4, or 5 year deal? He's not coming back on a year-to-year...

Sure he would. They're practically all "family" at this point.

It's not like Webster's hurting for money. He'll go down in flames with these yokels.

There's only 2 really high level players in the draft - Tunsil and Bosa.

Bosa looks incredible every time and watched him, and Tunsil would be a great pick. The draft's best player at a position of critical need at tackle is never a bad pick.

Some issues off the bat for Bosa and Tunsil:

Bosa: May be a bit of a tweener. Not really at a strong position of need. Rumored drug habit. Did serve suspension for one game.

Tunsil: Leg injuries (not knee). Also suspended for receiving impermissible benefits (may not be an issue). Too early to give up on Lewan at LT especially given his nagging injury.

Those are superficial comments. I haven't really watched much of either and I haven't read much into their situations. Trying to be open minded, but I don't consider OL to be all that safe especially after recent draft history. Might be better to take the best all around player and playmaker. That could be Ezekiel Elliot. (Ramsey may be questionable as a true playmaker).
