La Canfora: Coaches Have Significant Questions About Titans Ownership

LaCanfora is right.. I stated this exact thing a few weeks ago. There's no way as a potential coach you don't have serious questions about the ownership and stability of the job. It's a legitimate concern and a big enough issue to rule us out if a certain coach is choosing between us and another franchise

not a fan of Jason Cole as he's wrong on a lot of things but here's this...

He's telling the truth. The organizational-wide dumpster fire will keep McDaniels, Gase, etc away. Strunk knows this, and so do the rest of the coaching staff (which is likely where the "Mularkey retained" leak came from...a current assistant coach)

Misleading Headline bullshit. If you read the article it says "top coaches not likely to be interested....". I hate what passes for journalism these days.

I'm sure ownership is a concern, but the job will still be a desired one.

There are only 32 HC'ing jobs in the league.

We have a promising young QB.

We have the 1st pick in the draft.

The expectations are very low.

The AFCS is in shambles and could easily be won next year.

What the fucking fuck?!

It's all starting to make sense.

All the rumors ... all the "inside sources..."

The NFL doesn't like the team's structure, so they've been sabotaging them the whole time.

Sabotaging?

The NFL sees that the current clusterfuck for what it is - the Adams family is a turd in the punchbowl not only for the other league owners, but for the franchise itself.

They don't want to sell ... the NFL wants them to. Then we get a litany of "leaked info" that the potential to sell is keeping them from getting head coaches etc...

Yeah, they're sabotaging us. Meanwhile there are several teams trying to get to L.A., one owner firing everyone yearly and another owner on drugs most of the time.

The connotation is that the ownership is in disarray or that there's turbulence and feuding among the owners.  There's no indication of that in anything we've seen and heard.  I think all of the owners agreed that getting Tommy out of his position was a good idea, and he will probably tell you that no one is happier about that than he is.

As long as everyone is happy with their share and are content with letting AAS run things, I don't see what the problem is.  Maybe one of the 11% owners will sell out to the others or something, but barring that, so what?

Might mean Mularkey.  It would mean continuity of systems etc. and would lower risk situation from the viewpoint of a new HC in 2017 or 2018.

If the Titans go with a new coach, and things do not get better, then the team is really in a bind in hiring yet another coach within a few years.  The team would look really unstable for prospective coaches. Instead, if they stay with Mularkey for another season or two, the management looks more stable, and if the team does not get better, then it looks normal to make a head coaching change, adn teh management still looks stable.

Keeping Mularkey is the less risky scenario.
