However, I think it was their best chance to win even though I didn't watch the game and have absolutely no idea how much the wind was affecting kicks all night or who was dominating the line of scrimmage at that point. It's just funny to see people who have never even coached a little league team or strapped on a helmet, all of sudden become football experts. The defense is not there to coronate the offense. The are paid to be on the field too. Sometimes the defense wins. And sometimes it's just that simple. This is football...not ROCKET SURGERY! On the last play, it wasn't even about the defense winning. It was the offense's failure to execute a good play call. The WR was open, the QB simply missed the throw. The WR was open, the QB simply missed the throw. I didn't like the call to go for it on the 2nd 4th down attempt in OT but there is no question the play was there and Vick just blew it. The clock management issues, however, are easily correctable and something anyone who can use a little of logic can fix. I am convinced that half the fans of the NFL could manage a clock better than some of these head coaches. Or anything else situational, such as times when a FG just doesn't do you any good or when punting is a bad idea. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that when you're trailing by 6 points late in the 4th quarter kicking a field goal is probably not going to be productive to the ultimate goal of winning the game. They've been pretty good, any chance Butler is doing a better job than LeBeau did recently? I actually like what DL has done here a lot. They had the ball at the 9 yard line and hadn't done a thing all day offensively. You absolutely have to score the TD there. You're likely not getting another opportunity. And guess what? They didn't. Did they even pick up a 1st down on their final drive? Maybe one. I think coaches in general are progressing to a point that they're going for it more and not settling as much.
