Sean Mannion & Brett Hundley

Recommended Posts

After much further review, and accepting the fact that Phillip Rivers is more than likely "not" going to be in a Titans uniform, I have really placed both of these under a microscope in very detailed fashion as of late.

All and all, and regrettably against what I initially thought, this Mannion looks like the next best possible option in the Whisenhunt system at great value in the later rounds. He looks "to me" like a combination of a Ben Big and Matt Ryan, has the physical size and Pro-Style system awareness, and appears to have a high football-Q. I also like his career passing rating of 135.8.

On the other hand, I've liked Hundley and called him "like others" Mariota 2.0 to the shagreen of other fan opinions. I now think he is going to have the better NFL start than Mariota, and possible surprise QB of the 2015 NFL Draft. It has always been the diamond-in-the-rough players or under-thre-radar kind of quarterbacks that always seem to flourish the best in the NFL, and to me, the Eagles may get lucky taking him instead of getting the expensive chance at Mariota.

Wouldn't touch Hundley with a 10 foot pole.

I would absolutely love it if they bypassed Mariota and took Mannion a little later on instead.

I wouldn't touch any with a ten foot pole other than Winston, and there's a good chance he busts, too.

I hate this QB class.

1. Hundley is not in anyway "Mariota 2.0".

2. If you draft him it would be in 2nd or 3rd round which means you prolly should draft Mariota

Mariota is hundley 2.0.

You'll get the same results from both, why take one in the first when you can get hundley later.

Didn't Mannion lose his starting job at OSU twice?

I had forgotten about his, had to look it up to remember the situation.

His sophomore season he was the starter, hurt his knee (meniscus), and had surgery. He was replaced by a senior backup Cody Vaz for two games. When he came back he wasn't great and was replaced by Vaz for 3 games until Vaz was injured. Mannion started two games where he looked great vs. Cal and then like garbage vs. Oregon. The two QBs split time in the final game of the season and the senior QB got the start in the bowl game.

His Jr. Year was by far his best year. Completed 66% of his passes, threw for 4700 yards, 37 TDs and 15 Ints.

Maybe even Denver, and possibly Cleveland at #19

No chance he goes to DEN.  They'll be trying to win in Manning's final year and will address OL or DL.

However, CLE I totally agree.  I think they brought him in for a visit last week.  They're nuts if they rely on Manziel in any form next year.

You lost me. Most of the top Qbs in the league were not diamonds in the rough.
