  1. Agreed. This is not cool after going through the reviews and passing.

  3. Yeah, if this somehow goes very well for Putin it puts Taiwan more likely in play for China. That is ~100x more globally catastrophic economically.
  4. Like anyone is going to believe a highly regarded unbiased, fact based news source. /s But seriously, the AP is as real as you can get on news.
  5. I pruned many Facebook "news" sites after I came to understand their quality. This type of ranking system helps provide context. If people cut all their news sources that are below the green/yellow line, then we could have rational conversations/debates using a universe of common underlying facts. This is where I try to keep my news from at or above... As you go further down (on either side) you enter echo chambers of propaganda removed from objective reality. IMHO, around 1/2 between the yellow/green and the yellow lines is the transition from news-like to propaganda. Below the yellow line should be avoided at all costs if you seek facts/truth.
  6. The fact that storage is not actually practical/economical at scale is why everywhere that has high % of wind+solar either has 100% backup (mostly fossil) or many interconnects to borrow from their neighbors. The 100% wind+ solar future is sadly, I fear, a very expensive fantasy/distraction from actual scalable low carbon options. It will be tried for sure, but I believe it will fail as renewable generation rises to the 30-40% of total generation based upon basic engineer considerations.
  7. If there is a thread to rival the length of the Virus in the US thread, it is probably this one. Trump will have a obscene amount of corruption unearthed in the next few years...

  11. Politicians are always fair game to laugh at when the do something silly/dumb/crazy. I suspect Biden will occasionally do some silly/dumb things worthy of laughing at here. I also suspect the crazy stuff to be down by ~100x from the prior administration...
  12. It is still surreal that he really sharpied the original to make the weather forecast match his delusions/lies. (Yes, I know the above is not the Trump edited version). What a shit show the last 4-years were...
  13. If they can stick the landing here, they will be off to a hell of a productive start and have some momentum heading into 2022...
  14. It will still be exported, but more by rail than pipe than if Keystone had gone ahead. I also don't like standing companies with billions of unusable assests in general. I think this is just a required gimmie to the green wing of the party, but I think it is poor policy...
