As far as the media goes, I've blasted Wyatt plenty of times but I fail to see what he did wrong in this situation. First of all, he didn't even break the story. All Finnegan had to do was ask his agent to call Reinfeldt and there wouldn't be a situation. That is of course if you believe Finnegan is actually telling the truth. I'm not sure if I totally buy it because MR seemed pretty shocked. Also, he was reported as starting a hold-out before the next official Titan function so someone in his camp told somebody about it. It wouldn't have been known to the Titans yet had he just left since he had not missed anything by the time that report came out. Seems like he is backpedaling but I'm willing to buy what he's selling even if I don't believe it since he has earned some goodwill in my eyes. Uhhhh ... basically, what we're saying Finnegan, is we'll let you save face because we really do appreciate what you mean to the team and your efforts in the offseason. I feel for Finnegan, because I'm sure he knows he made a mistake, but the more I think about it, the more I don't think the media can let him get away with it. As a fan, I'll forgive him of course, but dude, the media MUST ask hard questions or it just looks ridiculous. Football is a means to an end and a hobby. If he truly had a family issue to take care of then everyone needs to stfu. You have no right to say how he needs to handle a personal matter. If he left in the middle of the night to deal with a family matter why must you retards keep saying 'he should have called so and so". Well if it is an issue and an emergency my first thought would not be to call anyone in the Titans or NFL, but to get my ass where it needs to be. Maybe it is backpedaling, maybe it isn't. You and I do not know. Stop speaking as if you know exactly what happened. You were not there, you don't know shit. If it is all made up BS, then sure do/say whatever. It was clear that they were surprised he left and had no clue of a family issue. 3. The team didn't throw Finny under the bus. 4. The media did their job and reported his absence. 5. All of this is completely true...but why did Finnegan say he told the Titans staff and made them aware of the situation when according to Munch and Reinfeldt he did nothing of the sort? If you left in the middle of the night for a family issue are you even thinking about calling MR or MM? Or do you just go take care of your family? Honestly it does not matter what you and I would do. None of us truly know what happened in regards to him leaving. Everyone is just speculating. Maybe he truly is backpedaling. I wouldn't wait until 2 days later to come out and let my employer know why I had left work. In fact, I would have told them at the time I left. It takes time to get places, and while doing that you can make a phone call. This is JUST like the scene in Best of the Best where Eric Roberts's kid gets hit by a car. See, the kid was so small the guy never saw him. Coach told Alex Grady that there are NO exceptions. No one leaves training. After all, the Koreans will be training every day, with no distractions. Alex says "What the hell is wrong with you!?" but coach doesn't budge and says Alex must choose. "There is no choice!" Alex says, with appropriate drama. "I'm outta here!". See, his kid might have lost his leg. As it turned out, his kid was in a coma! Oh no! The plane was leaving in three days to go to the tournament! What to do!? Well, luckily after his dad showed up the kid came out of the coma. Alex rushed back to be with the team, but at first Coach was like "Sorry, we need to alternate." Alex was crushed, but eventually Coach realized that the whole team wanted Alex. They needed him to win the tournament you see. So when it came time, Alex was readmitted and Coach saw that his team was finally coming together. They pulled for each other. Even Travis Brickley wanted Alex back! Even TRAVIS! Can you believe it?
