Omar Cooper is elite after the catch.  Highest missed tackle rate, next to Quentin Johnston.  And he actually did it in a real conference and can catch.  His ceiling is far higher than people credit him for.

You could make an argument for him being the 2nd best receiver in the class behind Tate. I'm sure plenty would pick Tyson, Lemon, or Boston over him, but he'd be a consolation prize if they were to pass on Tate.

I don't expect he'll be a Titan though unless he falls to 35 and they like him enough to stay put and take him.

How much is the pick worth?  Love?  If he's as valuable as people are saying, what could the Titans get in a trade?  I just don't like taking a RB in round one.  We just went through RB dependency and a broke foot cost a real shot at the SB.

Are you talking about the year Henry broke his foot?

YES SIR!  The Titans were rolling.  Even after Henry went down they had the best record in the AFC.  That team was beating up opponents.  They somehow lost to the Jets early in the season, but they were hard to beat.  Tannehill won games.  He won eight games with the top RB contributions of 86, 68, 29, 30, 47, 31, 132 and 69.  The 86yd and 68yd total was with Henry.

I think Henry hurt his foot against KC because he was running funny against Indy.

What makes you think we would be dependent on him just because we draft him at 4? You know this is Ward's team regardless, right? If they draft Love it's because they think it'll help make Ward's job easier, not because they think Love is the future.

He's a special weapon.  Weapon gets broke-then what?

The whole team retires and moves to Tibet to become Buddhist monks.

This is the hardest football time, worse than waiting for the first game.  The damn draft.  The amount of time spent trying to figure out who you are going to get is torture.  I mentioned this before, I think adding a superstar RB to the offense is gong to up the pressure on Cam.

Accuracy.  If Ayo bobbles and drops a ball-Boo Ayo.  Cam's ball has to be better placed.  I believe in Cam, but if I'm all the way honest he left plays on the field.  He's young.  He can throw a football and I believe the accuracy is coming.  They got him WDR, #14 WR in 2024.  Ridley is capable, but he's missed about 30gms in his seven year career.  That's a lot of receiving talent.

What are you expecting?  What would PM do with Ridley, WDR and Love coming out of the backfield?  They have used Mahomes as a comp for Cam.  I think that's leaves not many excuses in the mind of avg fans.  A reasonable season for a 3-14 team moving in the right direction is 6gms, 7games.

Question?  What are your expectations?  Titans offense Cam, WDR, Ridley and Love will win how many games?

Not answering your question but the ayo "accuracy" part of this is one of the things that makes me love tate so much. He does so much to help his qb. He(and smith) made that Ohio state qb look far better than he was. The ball tracking ability, coming back to the ball, keeping feet in bounds. All of that adds up to yards and points.

Watch that tate video in the #4 pick thread and you will see a bunch of underthrown passes he had to adjust to which let the cb catch up.

Try jerking off while figuring it out. I bet your tune changes. Or maybe just enjoy the process for what it is. A time to learn.

I'm expecting a headache to start popping up after trying to follow where you were going with this post.

Cam was a rookie QB on the worst team in the league with a head coach (and staff) that was mostly in way over his/their head(s). Of course he was going struggle. He had a much worse season than I thought he would have had and I still came away super excited about the future with him.

Future success is guaranteed to no one, and neither is health. That being said, they took a blow torch to the defense from last year and rebuilt the shit out of it in free agency. All things being equal, assuming they do the same for the offense in this draft along with last year's class taking the next step, I have no problem thinking the Titans could be a surprise playoff contender. At the very least 8-10 wins is very possible assuming things break right.

Cam's had it tough all through his career.  TX, **, WA, FL.  He's been mowing down the opposition.  He's got a helluva story and that's why we love him.  I just don't want them to mishandle him.  As you mentioned, bc/paw were about the worse you could do to a team.  A R-QB, disaster.  First of the season, it looked like Cam couldn't understand the plays.  We still don't know about the line, all that lego shit paw had could have ruined some development.  Just a lot of variables.

I mean that’s not a RB issue. Broke foot may have cost Broncos one too

Pseudo-draft related, but PFF had a ton of layoffs today and among those let go was Trevor Sikkema, who basically was their entire NFL Draft department, there.

Wonder where he ends up next. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him get an opportunity at ESPN, where some former colleagues (Jordan Reid, Benjamin Solak) and his girlfriend work.

As Sikkema was the one who maintained the rankings and database for the mock draft simulator which will likely mean it will not be maintained or shut down now.
