FireInTheHole
One big thing Vrabel seems to have going his way that he may have learned from is keeping his hands out of the offense and letting McDaniels cook. I will 100% give him credit for that. Outside of that, the Mickey Mouse schedule and the playoff luck don’t help the case.

Turns out that speculation was just off by a year. Shhhh, you can not besmirch the 2nd coming. How are they going to go to their alter and lick his poster in reverence now without this evil thought you have put in their heads? Vrabel brought a guy who has years of existing history with the team to the team or Kraft and others with the Patriots brought him there?

It tells me the playing-calling 2nd year head coach who is also playing in the Super Bowl with a 14 win team is more deserving overall for COTY. Not to mention two other candidates whom also delivered more impressive head coaching seasons (Coen as a first year head coach and play-caller in Jax and Shanahan navigating a brutal division with those injuries). This is one of the more stupid things ever posted on this site. Bongo-level shit. Vrabel was pitching Arthur Smith last year in LA. Arthur even interviewed again for Charger OC last month: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10106599-nfl-rumors-arthur-smith-expected-to-be-mike-vrabels-oc-when-ex-titans-hc-lands-job https://www.chargers.com/news/offensive-coordinator-search-arthur-smith-interview And no, Josh McDaniels wasn't the only candidate being rumored in Chicago. Tommy Rees was also right there in the mix according to Breer and Chicago insiders. IrishTitansFan

It was well reported McDaniels was his guy with both NE and Chicago.

Yes he brought him as the plan for the OC job in both Chicago and New England. Kraft specifically said it, Breer reported it, Vrabel himself said it Again, why would the guy who demanded roster control to take the job have an OC forced on him? Answer the question. The funny thing is the way it played out should actually make all of us who said it was time for him to go to bed vindicated! He very clearly reflected and realised his over involvement on the offensive plan was what held him back! That was the whole point IsntLifeFunny

That was the whole point Ok... so maybe he deserves credit for self-realization, but before sending him his flowers maybe consider that it's just as probable that McDaniels didn't have any other real options. It has worked out, but what if Vrabel had to go outside the Patriot network for his OC? What's his track record outside of McDaniels?
