He let Carthon (the GM) handle the roster. Just like he is doing now with Borgonzi

It sure sounds like he was involved in the entire FA/draft debacle of 2024.

"Additionally, he reshaped and refined the foundation of the team's analytics department from the ground up, while building and executing the 2024 and 2025 offseason strategies for player acquisitions in both free agency and the draft."

If you ship out McCreary after shipping out Brownlee you are completely clearing out the CB room. Sneed is 100% gone after the season as well.    I understand you want your own type of playe

I really want them to place Sneed on IR.    These should be his last snaps in a Titans uniform.

If they don't want to pay McCreary the big deal he's going to get after the season then I guess trade him for whatever you can get.    But if this time next year Brownlee and McCreary are pl

Was he not Ran's boss?

This isn't fantasy football.  The amount of discussion and coordinator which takes place before using a high pick and spending so much of the owners money would have given ample opportunity to intervene.  Unless he was running a loose ship and didn't thoroughly vet one of the biggest decisions of Carthon - who had essentially just been demoted - in which case he should also be fired.

Brinker wasn't Carthon's boss, they both reported directly to AAS at that point.

Ya, ran hired brinker. And then brinker got promoted over him after the fact.

There is a lot misunderstanding locally and nationally as to when Brinker took over. Officially he took over after Carthon was fired. Unofficially, he had to step in for Carthon last year when Carthon couldn't do his job, got PIP'd, and was essentially told to go home on administrative leave. Before that, Brinker and Carthon were a dual headed snake reporting directly to AAS post Vrabel being fired. Now all that being said, I find it oddd how much criticism Brinker avoids when he was clearly involved in football decisions the past 2 years before Borgonzi was hired and while Borgonzi is the GM, its pretty clear Brinker is in charge and is involved day to day.

I forgot about that.  That explains everything regarding the state of his team.

No chance we would extend him

On a team with no starting cbs under contract next year(assuming sneed is cut) a good nickle back regardless of his short arms has a chance to be resigned.

I would put it as far as he will be back unless they can get whatever they think is good trade compensation

I think he’s pretty good, but Borgonzi doesn't seem inclined to pay him

Sounds like a lot of noise is being drummed up by Tennessee. This is week two going onto three of reports that we want to be active at the trade deadline. Sounds a lot like we are open for business but nobody is excited about what we're selling

No doubt they have reached the point they are advertising to the rest of the league that McCreary/Key/Okonkwo don't feature in their future plans and they are available to any team who wants them before the trade deadline shuts.

What are the thoughts around here about taking 2027 or 2028 picks if we can get higher return that way? Brinker and Borgonzi talk about things in terms of a 3 year plan so maybe they would be more open to it if it nets them a round higher on any trades they may do.

They aren't in a position to be choosy on the guys with expiring contracts if teams are only willing to give up future picks they should take it.
