Guest
ok. Hard to tell with CMJ. You do realize HBO isn't "interpreting" anything, with regard to major plot lines, right? They are working in lock step with the author. Bullshit. They have changed plenty of things. They are absolutely interpreting Martin's work to fit TV even if he's involved somewhat. Starkiller
Nope. Bolton is a realist and could see the writing on the wall. Rob lost the war way before he was killed. There is a lot more to it than that. Anyway, if the Freys had joined Robb's army, they could have still challenged the Lannisters. It wasn't lost until the Red Wedding. I think his point is that interpreting implies using their own creative writing exclusively, when they are consulting Martin every step of the way. Legaltitan
Bolton is a realist and could see the writing on the wall. Rob lost the war way before he was killed. This is certainly true, but does not conflict at all with what I said. I think it's both.

Please calm down. No doubt they have changed alot to make the show more streamlined and visually appealing and a whole lot of things. But they are not going to change something as huge as who was behind the red wedding.

It wasn't lost until the Red Wedding. I'm sitting in traffic do forgive my brevity. It isn't as complicated as you are making it. And the war was over. Rob needed the Freys to challenge Casterly Rock. He did not have the men to challenge the combined might of the Lannisters and Tyrells overall. Guest
If you didn't read the books then you will obviously believe Tywin was behind it all. The book is more ambiguous. That is why there is a discussion.
WG53
Legal, pay the fuck attention. We are talking about the books, not HBO's interpretation. Clearly the tv series attributes everything to the Lannisters. CMJ wasn't.

At what point would you say? His marriage? Or losing some Bannermen? Edited June 5, 2013 by WG53
WG53
If you didn't read the books then you will obviously believe Tywin was behind it all. The book is more ambiguous. That is why there is a discussion. The main argument was with CMJ stating he had almost nothing to do with it. The books have nothing to do with his assertions just the show as he has not read them. Regardless, both the show and the books are killer. And never forget, Tywin is in control of absolutely everything. Until he's not . . .
