It was always going to be. Especially with what happened last week. Maybe they should have left the red wedding for the finale. They need to save something for next season because not not hell of a lot happens in A Feast for Crows

I really feel like they're gonna combine AFFC with ADWD and make it two season like they're doing ASOS. So that's three more seasons at most they have until RR Martin needs to finish TWOW.

Well for anyone who cares to read this, here are my (lengthy) thoughts now that I’ve had a chance to sleep on it.   I’ll start by saying I'm not sure I've ever been more hyped for an episode

I loved the fact that Theon won his fight cause he has no dick. Haha

Yeah, I figured that they wouldn't be able to match the Red Wedding and wouldn't try, but there were a few things I thought they could do but chose not to... won't get into it for spoiler reasons... and then a few things that they did do which were ugh.

Ending with Dany crowd surfing to what sounded like music from the Lion King was an unfortunate choice. Compare this season ending to the Dragons from season one and the White Walkers from season two... I could name one or two things that they could have ended with that would have been much more along the lines of something to surprise and excite you... a better cliffhanger of sorts.

I did like a few of the story transitions within the episode. They were direct but filled in some details for people. The transition between the rat story and Walder Frey emphasized how big a deal the betrayal in his own house was. The transition from Bolton talking about how his bastard son has his own way of doing things and then cutting to his bastard and Greyjoy also made it clear who was torturing Greyjoy and firmed up a bit about his character being somewhat mental (should have been obvious).

Yeah, I feel like they do transitions really well and this episode was focused on exposition. The Tywin/Tyrian scene early was just awesome. The way Joffrey got sent to bed was awesome as well. Fuck Joffrey. Loved the way Jamie's return was handled (not a word spoken) and how that mimicked Jon Snow's.

I'm so tired of Danerys as Aryan Abe Lincoln. So tired. I was hoping she would've gotten stabbed in the crowd. Something new needs to happen with her.

I don't remember the freedom/liberator angle being played so heavily in the books but that might've been me just glossing over it.

They didn't necessarily play it the same way, but it was in the books. There wasn't a scene like this, but the former slaves did call her mother.

It wasn't an eventful episode, but it was necessary to tie up lots of loose ends. And it helps set them up for next season.

I do wonder if they are going to cut Coldhands out of the storyline beyond the Wall. Not sure he's important enough to need, frankly.

Depends on who Coldhands is. There are theories that he is someone and seeing him would refute or verify before GRRM has a chance to choose whether or not to answer the question in book six.

Lady Stoneheart is the one I thought they'd introduce and now wonder if she'll be cut. She may or may not have a larger role in future books. I won't discuss here since non-readers don't know the character and I don't want to spoil anything.

They could push Coldhands to next season, like they did with Stannis not being in season 1, if Martin thinks the character is important enough to the future story. In this case, they just had Sam aready know about the passage through the Wall. They could get away without him based on what the books have shown s far.

Stoneheart certainly wasn't going to be in this last episode. We'll see how long before that character inevitably shows up. I assume season 4 sometime, but maybe not until season 5? I'm convinced it will be included, though.

I thought a Stoneheart appearance would have been the perfect way to end this season. It would have only needed 10-20 seconds and they wouldn't even need to readdress that character for awhile if they didn't want to... but it would spawn just about the awesomest reactions from people who haven't read the books.

I bet Stoneheart comes in for the mid season finale next season.

There were a couple things I was hoping they'd show in the finale but they didn't do any of them and I can't say I'm too surprised about it either.

Agreed. Stoneheart is raised 3 days after the massacre,no?
