Legaltitan
I'm hoping they reveal Bolton's reason in the next episode ???? Bolton wants the north. He sent his bastard son to "help take back Winterfell" and next thing you know Winterfell is sacked and Theon is being tortured on a device identical to the Bolton sigil. And then next thing you know he is stabbing the King in the North. Bolton wants to rule the North. reo
Guest
Legal, pay the fuck attention. We are talking about the books, not HBO's interpretation. Clearly the tv series attributes everything to the Lannisters.
Starkiller
You better edit this real quick. People are going to be pissed.Yeah, but you have to edit yours, too, since you quoted him... Edited June 5, 2013 by Starkiller
Legaltitan
How the fuck is paying someone for turning sides a master stroke, was my original question. Because, despite getting his ass handed to him on the battlefield, he was able to win the war without losing a single more man on the field, after basically telling his daughter that letters win war more than soldiers. Legaltitan
The guy is being heralded as the mastermind, paying someone off is the easy part. No cunning needed. Ok, so now you concede he was behind it, you kjust don't think he deserves that much credit? Just because it wasn't the most ingenuous plan ever hatched doesn't mean it wasnt a masterstroke. All true, but there's something else he needs that only a king can grant. 2 if you count being named as Warden of the North in place of the Starks. But there is something TV-only viewers wouldn't know.

Legaltitan
You are inferring quite a bit. I'm going to reread that part of the book tonight to double check but I do not recall his part in it being what you say it was. The book on't help. They made it much less ambiguous in the show than in the book. In the book it is not until much later that it becomes clear what happened. (edited to remove spoilers) In the show they practically beat you over the head with it. I guess Bolton could have said "Tywin Lannister, with whom I am working in concert in furtherance of my own self interest, sends his regards." Clearly the tv series attributes everything to the Lannisters. ok. Hard to tell with CMJ. I guess disregard everything else above. You do realize HBO isn't "interpreting" anything, with regard to major plot lines, right? They are working in lock step with the author. Starkiller
The band PLAYS THE SONG ABOUT LANNISTER REVENGE AND HOW THE LANNISTERS WIPED OUT AN ENTIRE HOUSE. Hell, not just the Lannisters. Tywin specifically...

Rob lost the war way before he was killed.
