There was already bunker under the White House east wing. There was one back in the FDR era. And you may recall that Trump cowered in it when BLM had a protest outside the White House. Anyway, it being modernized makes sense and clearly Trump spent enough time in there back in 2020 to know that it was clearly not opulent enough. Loook at it this way, he wants to be remembered as the last republican, that look I built maga, you guys can’t do it without me. That’s what he wants, look at how he’s set Vance up as of late. A, he’s been attacking the pope, knowing Vance converted to catholic. He knows Vance doesn’t have the balls to say anything, and has stayed quiet. B, he knows he’s been setting him up on these peace talks, knowing he’ll fail and come back looking stupid. He’s called him out in press conferences, and the final one he sent him to do a turning point even, where they cancelled Erika Kirk at the last second and literally nobody showed up to the event.
