Actress Michelle Trachtenberg (39) died. She apparently had a liver transplant last year, so maybe that failed.

She must have consumed a TON of alcohol to have a liver transplant that young.

Also she looked rather gaunt (and old) during the last photo she took and posted.

"Scarecrow" an underrated Hackman movie

Haven’t seen that one but I’ll try to watch it.  So many underrated and great films by him.  This one kind of hurts even though he was 95.

70s (I’ll try to go through some of the non obvious ones); Cisco Pike —Hackman had a supporting role but it’s a pretty good cast (all dead sadly) , Harry Dean Stanton, Kris Kristofferson.

Night Moves.  This one gets on great 70s movies lists but it’s not well known.  James Woods and Melanie Griffin in early roles.  It captures a lot of 70s vibes and pragmatism

Prime Cut:  more of a Lee Marvin film but Hackman has a fun role as the villain.  It’s also a changing of the times film .

80s.  Mississippi Burning.  Hackman plays the bigot partner and he makes him sort of likable in the end

Target:  kind of a Cold War thriller w/Matt Dillion.  Mentioned it because both actors seemed to be starring in different films

90s Narrow Margin:  not sure where this one ranks but it’s a personal fave .

The Quick and the dead ; he’s basically rehashing the Little Bill character but less evil.

The best thing I’ve read about Hackman is that he made difficult men a little more understandable.  You didn’t automatically think he was a one note or one dimensional character.

Gene Hackman found dead, 95.

His wife and dog also dead lol

Maybe a gas leak?

Gene might have just gathered them all together and went the carbon monoxide route. lol  Edit: Just read up on it.  No signs of that though.  Strange shit.

My fave Hack movie.  Saw it in the theater back then with a party buddy. 🥬 Skipped work and checked it out.  Damn good movie...
