I know this may come off to some people as too much, but this time I’m not so sure. The only thing that kept Trump from keeping hold of power 4 years ago was his generals. Do you seriously think that if Mike Flynn was his Secretary of Defense and the military had all MAGA-types running the pentagon that things would have played out the same way?

 

Is the Supreme Court going to stop him? Hell, even if they did, who is going to force him to comply?

 

Trump wants to be Putin (not Hitler, BTW). Trump wants ultimate power. He isn’t just going to hand it back just because the Constitution says so. 
 

I hope I’m wrong, but it’s honestly a very real threat. The only thing that can stop him is the rest of the GOP saying that’s going too far, but I’ve seen no evidence yet that they are going to do any such thing in the face of anything Trump does. All the people left in the party care more about staying in power themselves. Anyone who has ever been critical of Trump has been excommunicated from federal office.
