JFC thats hard to listen. I stopped watching under the 5 min mark.

Lol why? This interview has more meat than any single interview I think I've heard come out of Tennessee.

Does it get better beyond the 5 min mark? If you answer incorrectly I will hunt you down.

Markedly. Just gotta get past his quirky sense of humor.

If you like system talk and coaching connections anyway. Also talks through which coaches will be in which offensive meeting rooms.

It's easy to see why this dude didn't advance.

With that said, the wrong speaking habits / personality / feel can cause your abilities to go overlooked. Hopefully he's rainman.

I'd settle for Jonah Hill's character in Moneyball.

Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but Nick Holz was on the OTP episode this week if you need something to help you fall asleep.

I really was hoping this interview would change my overall expectations about the hire but unfortunately it went the other direction.

I hope that he has paid attention along the way because he's worked with a lot of good football coaches and certainly some of that experience must have rubbed off.

I mean he’s a short bald dude who’s not particularly handsome or charismatic.

It’s no shocker teams haven’t been falling over him for jobs. And it’s not like his position groups have done particularly awesome so he doesn’t have the mike McDaniel appeal. He’s a JAG of the coaching world. But maybe he’s got some skills no one else can see besides

coach Cal.

I'll tell you what his primary skill will be in Tennessee -

Being the Brian Callahan / Bill Callahan mediator. He's actually had tons of exposure to different schemes and verbiage though.

I see him as more of the quirky teacher who can translate different verbiage in different ways for different players. More schematic teacher than "traditional coach" it seems.

Hopefully it works out!
