Jamalisms
The most obvious response: You can't just say that and walk away. That's a bad sign for Greg Bedard's writing. I'd be more likely to believe that the NFL is trying to force Vrabel to a valuable franchise like the Patriots more than Vrabel trying to get himself there. Anything is possible and smoke from many sources indicates there's at least something to it but a lot of these stories just lack meat. It doesn't really move the needle much. The problem is, no matter who the Patriots have coaching, they still ain't gonna have Tom Brady. And soon they won't have Bill Belichick either. If all this happens and Vrabel is stuck on another losing team with no picks to build a roster, it will be fun-ny.
Justafan
But he's a respected journalist. What do you think he just made it up!? Seriously, click bait drivel—nothing to see here.

No. When you see many journalists saying similar things, it's obviously being driven by something. There's the Patriots, Vrabel, the league or just people knowing. But this report in particular is simply bad reporting in terms of form and content.
Callidus
If he wrote an article about how the NFL wanted the titans to hire Carthon to get the 49ers free draft picks to help them get over the hump it would be more believable

MacNasty
I don't see anything difficult to believe in that take. Could be some truth to it, could be BS. Also it would not surprise me if the two differed over the drafting of Levis. Seems like Vrabel would have been content to stick with Tannehill and build another position with that pick. But either way if there is truth to any of it we'll see the cracks over the next month or so. This is the window where that stuff would start breaking. tgo
No doubt the Patriots could trade for Vrabel. But lol at Carthon being an NFL “plant” or having job performance issues with the 49ers - ridiculous.
Number9
This is turning into a real drama. Plots within plots. Titans World. The Patriots want Mike Vrabel. They devise a multi year plan to get him. First they promise Jon Robinson the Pats GM job if he can waste picks and bring in scrubs. Then they plant Ran to finish knifing Vrabel in the back. Rest is easy. Convince Titans fans any offensive coordinator will be better than Vrab.
TerryBoats
Adams was hugging on Carthon in the introduction video. To think she didn't have a hand in the decision is silly. And he was working for the 49ers, not the Giants. He wasn't some dark horse candidate, but the logical choice for a team looking to mirror one of the league's best franchises

They bring in someone who isn't a BB disciple, they lose the whole "do your Job" team first culture; bring in BB lite replacement they keep the culture but don't have a QB and a crappy roster. OILERMAN
I 100% believe the Pats might want Vrabel and he would be very interested in that job. Also who was the source for the Russini article? We know it's usually Vrabel. What was the motivation? Could this turn into something of substance? Sure it could. pat
The idea that "Carthon was an NFL plant" sounds a lot like sour grapes from a biased asshole. Perhaps even from one who doesn't know how to coach an NFL OL, but does know they've been given enough rope to have their weaknesses exposed.
