Cleveland  total defense is #1 overall.  Pittsburgh is #30.  There's a significant difference between the two.

And yet Levis faced more pressure than Tannehill in that game. Probably because Levis didn't fold. You're making my argument for me.

Not saying he played a perfect game, but saying Levis played like a rookie grossly understates what he was doing in terms of adjustments, etc. They had Ran on in the pre game and when asked about Levis, he mentioned that not only was his UK OC  a former NFL guy, but that they ran the UKY pre game prep the same as a typical NFL team does and that instead of being overwhelmed by it, Levis embraced it, which along with his physical talent made him attractive to the Titans.

He didn't play like a rookie at all. He made some bad decisions, but he was dicing up a defense that besides their numbers going into the game had the highest pressure rate of any team we've played this year. His OL had a now backup LT, a hurt Sko and Brunskill, and Radunz back at RT, which isn't his natural position.

He looked great out there. He has things to work on for sure, but given the situation he was great.

If you have a gripe with Vrabel and the coaching staff, this is the game to have it

Terrible on defense in the areas they're supposed to be good at - run defense and getting up and tackling on short completions

Offensive play calling was horrific and the decision to take the FG before half was such a pussy move. They went out not to lose and it made them lose

I've never seen anything like the second down run to Henry followed by a draw on 3rd and 4. Out of this world terrible, compounded by the shit play call putting Hopkins as the first read on a play he's obviously getting doubled. Really bad.

Have to agree here. The only thing you could surmise is they would try to pull back from holding the rookie's feet to close to the fire.

But if anyone wanted to know how Vrabel was as a coach, we're going to figure it out with Will Levis at QB.

Levis played an imperfect game but it’s clear as day he’s better than Pickett who was the first QB selected the previous year, that’s a big positive

The Steelers better start looking for a QB right now

Steelers are #30 in yards allowed per game, and below average in scoring defense at 21 PPG allowed.

Just some FYI.  Watt is great, but the defense has struggled overall this year.

I don't know what happened with second half adjustments but Levis was on pace for 300 yards at the half.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I found two sites which ranked the Steeler defense at #10 and #11-- not #30. Titans were ranked in the early 20s.

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nfl-defense-rankings/

This one has Titans at #15 and Steelers #18

Stat-shopping anyone?!

Thoughts:

1. Levis has areas to work on but should be the starter the rest of the season.

2. Radunz needs to start. It's coaching malpractice to not have him out there.

3. As much as I like Spears, he is not going to be an every down back.

4. I just feel bad for Burks at this point.

5. Dline is disappointing. Or scheme. Or ???

I need to rewatch the game but I don't believe they ran nearly as much PA as they did against the Falcons nor did they go with the quick passing game as much. They were forced into obvous 3rd and long situations where the Steelers were able to expose the Titans OL. some of that is execution but a lot of was play calling. I thought kelly called his best game last week and then followed it up with his worse game.
