If Trump said he'll use the DOJ to censor people, I will write in Rand Paul on the ballot.

Donald Trump scolded those who critique the Supreme Court at a rally on Monday, saying people should be jailed for “the way they talk about our judges and our justices” – despite the First Amendment allowing people to criticize the government.

“It should be illegal, what happens,” Trump told a crowd in Pennslyvania. “You know, you have these guys like playing the ref, like the great Bobby Knight. These people should be put in jail the way they talk about our judges and our justices, trying to get them to sway their vote, sway their decision.”

What Trump has done is much, much worse than Nixon. No comparison.

Was Hunter indicted?

There needs to be a strong deterrent to this happening again.

He also said the people who burn the American flag should be jailed.  And I agree with the sentiment.  But he's not going to do that although with the way the country is going, maybe we should.

We have a track record with Trump's first term.  The only thing I think he's going to change is that he really will try his best to drain the fucking swamp.  Other than that, he won't go after the common citizen.

Why do you think RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbert, and Elon joined his ranks?  These are not hardcore conservative hard asses.

Trump loves to make his followers look like idiots.

One of the truest statements in American History.

I would argue that he loves to expose his followers as the idiots they are....

Trump supporters love him because he presents himself as one of them:  he speaks at their level and gives a voice to what they feel and think.   And the fact that they feel that way is fine….as Americans, we’re all entitled to feel and say what we think.

But there’s one huge difference between a citizen saying it and a President saying it:

Average American citizens don’t swear an oath and are not bound by duty to uphold and protect the United States Constitution….nor are they expected and obligated to always act in the best interests of the United States as a whole.   A President is.

And unlike an average citizen, a President has enormous influence and possesses the unique individual power to make sweeping changes and define national policy with the single stroke of a pen.

If  an average citizen  expresses a fundamental disagreement with the Constitution….hey, great.   Whatever…who cares?   Nobody gives a shit…because one person doesn’t have the power to do or change anything.

But when a President (or aspiring President) expresses unconstitutional sentiments ….that’s a HUGE fucking deal.  Because a President is the one person who possesses the individual power and influence to enact an unconstitutional policy…and it would literally take an act of Congress to stop him.

This is why it’s absolutely critical to have a President who is level-headed, objective, and who demonstrates the  wisdom and discretion to be trusted with such incredible power and responsibility.

At no point in his life has Donald Trump ever demonstrated any of these attributes.   He craves absolute power and control…yet at no point during or after his presidency has he ever accepted any responsibility or accountability for his own actions and decisions or for anything that was done at his direction.

And somehow his supporters are perfectly fine with this arrangement…while using every excuse imaginable to explain why Donald Trump should never ever be held responsible for his own actions.

Then why is he saying it?

Because people should know that living in America is a privilege and it's pisses some of us off when citizens and immigrants piss all over our flags.  If not for the first amendment, burning our flag would be a treasonous act IMO.

Every time I bother reading a few posts from this loser pretending to be a normal guy with normal concerns and not obviously just posting propaganda and nonsense, I'm reminded very strongly of a scene from MST3K The Movie where they keep commenting about how Exeter is not an alien.

You're using this clown to prove a point?

Every time he's cornered, he says, "I'm a comic... you can't take me seriously..."

Stewart is good at his craft but he's as disingenuous as they come.  And yeah, if Trump says he will "use the DOJ to censor people," I will write in Rand Paul on the ballot. I stand by that statement.
