No, I think merely that they did that and it rendered his contribution way down.

He was about as close to a bystander as a QB could ever be in the playoffs and it's probably a good idea not to conflate playing poorly with being asked to do - and therefore adding - very little.

It's close to  Mac Jones throwing 3 passes in a win.

I'll say it.  WTF would anyone want to acquire and pay Lamar Jackson?  He's not come close to his 2019 season production wise and for as much grief as people give guys like Tannehill, Cousins, and Dak

Lamar got tagged on March 7th before free agency opened and didn't receive the first offer.  The calendar isn't his problem.    It's his recent performance, cost, injury history, and the fac

So his first half gets discounted because the team went in to full run out the clock mode after half time? I'm not going to argue he was Mahomes in that game but its a fact he was key to them getting out to a 14-6 lead.

Yeah if you give Tannehill the absolute worst OL in football and the worst WR group in terms of separation, he's not your guy!  Of course, name a QB who does well with that....

He threw 3 interceptions with a healthy Julio and AJ Brown and a healthy offensive line that was playing fantastically. We only needed 20 points to win lol.

No one's faulting Tannehill for the shit show last year. Stop arguing against straw men that you've created.

You're right. Let's talk about 3 picks in a home playoff game where the other team scored 19 points. Lamar never did that.

Lamar lost a game by 2 TD's when his defense only gave up 17 points.  He had 2 TO's in that game and a 61 passer rating......LOL

hey dumbass, I put the Bengals loss nearly 100% on Tannehill so back the fuck up. We are talking about the Titans Ravens playoff game where Tannehill was clearly the better QB. Jackson has incredibly talent but he's not a good passer so I can see why some would prefer Tannehill over him.

2 were tipped passes not on the QB.  and Julio was healthy?  Funny he took himself out of the game on the last drive....

But I don't expect someone with your inferior skills to know when an INT is the fault of the QB and when it isn't....Happy to educate you!

You're right. I've changed my mind and am now confident that Tannehill can help us compete for a championship. We just have to keep his passing attempts under 15 and his yards per attempt under 6.

Tannehill's never going to escape the Bengals game.  Fair or unfair.

You left out the "the overreaction from media and ignorant fans" part....but agree - it will take him have a great statistical game in the playoffs to change the narrative regardless of how fair or correct that narrative is.

There's always going to be a small % of fans who will look past it but you and I know that both within the Titans fan base and around the NFL, with the exception of a small % of fans, he's the okay QB who can win with a great supporting cast and when given the opportunity on the big stage didn't come through.  Fair or unfair that's how it's going to be.  He can go throw for 5,000 yards next year and set all kinds of records, if he goes out and throws three picks in a playoff game and they don't win it'll be the same thing.

He could absolutely escape it by having multiple great games but he'll certainly have to overwrite it with much better, more recent history before it's not the gut reaction.

It needs to be in the playoffs.  The regular season for him doesn't matter anymore to be honest.  The narrative about him has been written and in order to change that it has to come in the playoffs.  Even if the team stinks and it's not his fault that they don't get to the playoffs, that's the way it is.  The sample size in the league is always small and in his opportunities in 2020 and 2021 his last pass was an INT, both resulting in losses.  That's what fans care about and remember.  Not the 4 TD game against the 4-12 Houston Texans or the game-winning TD against the Kansas City Chiefs in the regular season.  Do it in the playoffs or people don't care.

Yup. He needs to make it for it big time. I'm not sure he'll get the chance at this stage of his career and the current state of the Titans though.
