I know what she said.  I think people are absolutely foolish for buying it hook line and sinker.  You do you though.

I think you are putting too much stock into the Ohio St story. Every time boosters are dissatisfied with a big time college program losing to its rival a few years in a row, we get the same story about how X NFL coach should come home to coach the program. The timing is meaningless as it was tied to Ohio St losing to MIchigan, not the Titans losing to the Eagles. There is zero chance a coach like Vrabel who succeeded as a player at the highest level of competition would give up coaching at the same tier with a championship still being chased.

much ado about nothing

There's a whole lot of smoke surrounding that, the aj trade, friction within the building etc for there to be zero fire.

I'm not saying he went in and made an ultimatum, though I still believe that's a possibility, or that his agent purposefully orchestrated this to force Amy's hand.  What I'm saying is that we don't know all of the information and Amy wasn't completely forthright and I think it's foolish that fans are just buying the company line here.  The timing and surrounding events are incredibly suspect.

Vrabel’s agent leaking a story to the press and Strunk’s independent decision on Robinson regarding the timing of the firing could be mutually exclusive, even if that piece was a contributing factor in her decision.

I doubt Vrabel was jointly scheming with his agency mid season about how to overthrow the regime. And from the Strunk video and the league sourced articles - Vrabel didn’t give Strunk any ultimatums and doesn’t operate that way.

Her exact words were “Anyone that thinks that doesn’t know Mike Vrabel - that is not something he would ever do.”

As someone who thinks Vrabel's coaching skills are pretty poor, I will say that I can't imagine him scheming behind JRob's back.  I don't like him as a coach, but never have I felt he lacked character and integrity (the one thing I think separates him from Fisher).  I just think he's an idiot for running a 70s offense in the 2020s.

My guess is that part of Vrabel's lack of excitement is that he really thought him and JRob were going to take this team to the promised land, and now it can't happen.  I can see Amy asking Vrabel's opinion of things, and Vrabel being honest in the lack of talent, specifically at WR and OL...knowing that he's basically throwing his buddy under the bus by being honest.

JRob has nobody to blame but himself, though.

127 pages of wgaf.  Positive anyone posting here doesn't know jack.  AAS will hire a new GM soon enough and you can have your next 127 pages of wgaf.

I've been tempted to post this exact same thing several times but held off.  JRob has been gone for over a week and not one word from him. Who cares about the back story speculation at this point?

A lot of people, obviously.  I think most fans, even those in the Vrabel-nuthugger group, are hesitant to see him handed a ton of power.  Regardless of whether it was warranted or not, I think Vrabel scheming behind JRobs back would be a pretty bad look, and bring Vrabel's character into question.

As much as I do think Vrabel has character and integrity, we can't forget that his coaching background is mainly under Urban Meyer and Bill O'Brien...two first ballot, hall of fame douchebags.  If Vrabel adopted anything from them, it could not only be bad on the field, but total drama behind the scenes.

He wants another job. You don't hire people that air things out in public, right or wrong.

He could issue a positive statement thanking AAS for the opportunity and wishing the team the best.  Instead, silence.  That comes off as bitter.

But be honest...you are anti-JRob, and I think it's fair to say your perception is coloring your view of his silence.

My view also ended up as being realistic.  He wasn't getting the job done.

that seems out of character but to be honest that is the only thing that makes sense that something happened.  Where did he say this I would like to listen to it

Maybe he's a C K Louis fan....But seriously this makes sense that it was beyond just football operations.  And on the heels of a seemingly flawed roster and the drinking on the plane deal, it may have put her over the edge....
