reo
He'll trash and trash and trash DeSantis w/ a growing fury thinking if he takes DeSantis down then he'll be all that's left. Then when he loses, he'll rant and rave and find a scapgoat and call it rigged

He'll take down DeSantis with him before he make a deal w/ him. Oh I believe that as well. I could just see someone, anyone, in his circle should the legal issues get perilous enough, set it on the table as an option. Right now I imagine he's been of the mind he's going to stall the legal charges, run again starting up that whole racket once more, win the Oval and then see everything go Bye Bye. Overconfidence from Ignorance is going to carry him so far, but the likelihood that it might actually all fall apart might make Fear kick in and that's what would drive the deal. I think he'll tear DeSantis down and make it impossible. As a sidenote, Gaetz is currently trying to rally Republicans against McCarthy. Make no mistake, he's a Trump loyalist. That's Trump trying to throw Mccarthy under the bus and blame him for last night. Hilarious.

I just like to contemplate what discussions are already being had by interested parties.

Govern and lead by your own ideas and don’t suck up to a psycho. Do your job well and run on your own accomplishments and you can win. Desantis only looks like a good idea next to Trump. He'd be unelectable outside of modern times. It's awkward that he's the great hope of the Republican party but I guess "anyone but Trump" means, well, anyone. oldschool
DeSantis is way more dangerous in some ways because he actually believes in his platform unlike Trump. I also question whether he holds up Nationally, not sure FL is really what the rest of the Country wants. I expect Hogan will throw his hat into the ring which is intriguing because he's a moderate Republican who was governor of a Blue state (MD) for 8 years. The bottom line is Trump has never been weaker since catapulting to the top of the Party in 2016. Will the Party take its shot to sideline him or fall in line? Going to be a show either way. The way this unfolded is the best case scenario for Democracy and the Dems. Trump won't back down and will excoriate DeSantis. It's going to get really ugly. Trump is going to be even weaker, probably before the year is over.

What I've seen reported is the guy is not nearly as likeable / charismatic as Trump (lol), and his abrasiveness without the crazy uncle foibles will wear on his less fervent supporters. sorta like the unlikable a-hole, past the second beer. I don't know a ton about Hogan, but I could see a "moderate" Repub really make a national run next time coming from out of nowhere at this moment. Watch Trump tear apart DeSantis weakening him, more people on the right get sick of Trump in the process, almost everyone thinking Grandpa Joe is too old, and a (R) who is antiTrump and midrange conservative (which means not a MAGA Majorie/R Johnson et al type) which includes a more mellow stance on abortion, maybe kinder words towards immigration (talk about focus on border security without demonizing immigrants, would play well to that those still carrying white guilt but also kinda liked idea of a wall), throw out the usual buzz words about inflation and the economy and THE CHILDREN.... and I think they could clean house. Probably more W than McCain/Romney would sell better.
