Depends on how much he believes in himself. Some guys take the money socially guys with an injury history like Fulton. If the money is right I could see a deal happening.

 Kyle doesn't know what he's talking about.  J. Jones was a post June 1 cut this year.  He won't be off the books in 2023.  The Titans will still carry an 8.4M cap hit for him.

We also have 59-61 players under contract next year depending on which website you look at, so that should give us some cap space along with any roll over cash. Not that it will cover the gap most likely.

There are several players who have big cap numbers next year that are going to get extended or have potential replacements behind them. I don't think the cap is nearly as much of a problem next year as it was this season. 

 

Tannehill will likely get extended. Lewan will get extended or replaced, Cunningham could get replaced by Rice, Dupree replaced by Weaver, Henry could easily be a cap cut.... BTW, Woods would free up almost 14 mill with no dead money. Those are all massive cap savings.

True, they will have to do something about 2 and probably 3 expensive contacts

Brown leaving actually really helps the cap for next year.  They would be in a bind and likely would have lost a good player or two to FA regardless.  At least this way, they got draft capital back.

I don't see Rice replacing Cunningham. Cunningham played great when he came on last year. Plus I think having Rice as a backup if needed is icing on the cake. God knows how much we have leaned on backup ILbs over the last few years.

It all depends on what they see from Rice this year. They will have a better idea of whether he can start by the time next offseason rolls around and they have to make cap decisions at LB.

They know what they have in Rice.  If Rice had shown that much potential, they never would have jumped at the chance to bring in Cunningham.
