For those who call this clunky don't even think about DS1/DSR or DS2. Regarding difficulty, DS3 is also probably considered the easiest of the soulslikes, but since it was my first, it was the hardest for me. I'm sporting a GTX 1650, and native 3440x1440 was a slideshow. Had to drop that down and run windowed. The one thing I'm not liking yet is horseback combat. Not gonna lie, I LOVE horseback combat. Their optimization for PC is pretty sub-par at the moment, from what I gather. Supernope

Especially with a Samurai as they seem to be better at it than some other classes from what i've read but actually hitting something while riding the horse is not as easy as it should be. WG53
Heals occur way too slow. You get knocked down you're on the ground for 10 goddamn seconds while they just fucking hit you repeatedly and kill you. JFC this game is so fucking intentionally stupid in several facets. Some games I like to watch like Days Gone. I watched the whole thing and it felt like a show. I do this with horror games. I've had more than a fair share of jump scares from Elden Ring though. I've gotten pretty good. Throw on targeting and circle the enemy ... not too bad.

Now i use Lenne's rise to farm runes. Edited March 5, 2022 by WG53
headhunter
Did you see where you can kill the biggest dragon in the game without a fight and get 80000 runes or souls. I forgot which one I dont play
Vintagerobots
https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/fastest-way-t-farm-runes-elden-ring/?amp this is a great way to farm runes for anyone too lazy to do it the old fashioned way. I decided to re-roll my character and used this to get caught back up to where I was originally in terms of stats. It’s pretty boring but it works Stranger

Get the golden scarab and the golden fowl foot and it goes from 1900 something to like 3000 per run. Vintagerobots

Jamalisms
One of the biggest FU's that Elden Ring constantly throws in your face is how you try to summon wolves or another assistant in during a pinch and then those MFers materialize directly in your way and block you from moving, only to get you killed immediately after. Would someone who hadn't played a souls game previously enjoy the game or would the learning curve be a barrier to entry? This is entirely dependent on the person. We are in a golden age of games where there is something for everyone. I just bought Elden Ring and haven't really jumped in yet, but if it is anything like Bloodborne there definitely will be a learning curve and early game frustrations, part of the appeal of these games are that they are frustrated. If you game more casually or don't have a ton of time, this might not be it IMO. You can always wait and get it when it is cheaper. I can't imagine Bloodborne costs a lot right now--you could try that and see if you like it.
