rns90
LOL there are some really shitty owners in the NFL. Thankfully AAS is not one of them.

If you hire him, you gotta deal with the blowback from it. 2) He also apparently bombs in interviews. 3) He is from the Andy Reid coaching tree. That tree is like Bill Belichick’s, where assistants look great until they go out on their own. The only big success from that tree is John Harbaugh if I recall. 4) Andy Reid’s offenses are almost always great - no matter the coordinator. He may not call the plays, but the whole offense and identity on that side of the ball is him all the way. Bienemy replaced Matt Nagy, who replaced Doug Pederson. In Philly, He had Marty Mornhinweg, who replaced Brad Childress. 5) In addition to this, how much of his success at OC is due to a generational talent in Mahomes? For these reasons, I wouldn’t touch him if I was a GM/Owner. Jeez. 1. He was a piece of shit in college? You mean a hot shot, 20 something, All American athlete did some very immature things in college? Well........That's something we should be talking about 30 years later. 2. The Denver Broncos are on the record saying that his interview was great. They just felt like someone else was better. 3. You recall wrong. Andy Reid has had 10 NFL coaches hired from under his coaching tree going back to his days in Philadelphia. 7 have taken teams to the playoffs. 3 of them have taken teams to Super Bowls. 2 have won it. 4. Bieniemy is doing the same job that Peterson and Nagy were doing and they got hired to NFL jobs and he hasn't. 5. The same can be said for anyone coaching Tom Brady and Aaron Rogers. Hasn't stopped their OCs from getting HC jobs.

But I think it is funny when Bieniemy is pointed out as the prime example of the hiring is unfair. It is a copycat league, teams try to go for what other teams are doing and what is working. So many teams have interviewed him. Maybe he is just a bad interview and doesn’t come across as a guy that would be strong running a team. Apparently Bienemy is an awful interview. oldschool
From a legal perspective, seems pretty obvious the Giants and Broncos are going to fall back on the fact they have hired Minority HCs (Joseph) and GMs (Reese) in recent years. Honestly I get Flores being upset here but this lawsuit will almost certainly end his NFL coaching career. I hope he knows what he's doing and wasn't roped into this lawsuit to serve as a martyr by outside influences. As for the NFL, they need to be exposed for the sham Rooney rule and more to the point, how its been implemented and easily circumvented by teams for a long time. oldschool
regarding Bieniemy dude has been arrested 4 times. Even though it was 25 years ago, its a valid concern for teams who are interviewing him to be the head of their organization. - According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Colorado police arrested Bieniemy and teammate Kanvavis McGhee following a February 1998 bar fight. Bieniemy was charged with disorderly conduct and fighting in public, but he pleaded no contest. He and McGhee each received deferred sentences and performed court-mandated community service. - According to the Orlando Sentinel, Bienemy pleaded no contest after allegedly shoving a firefighter on July 4, 1990. Colorado suspended Bieniemy for one game in the upcoming season. - Colorado police once again arrested Bieniemy, then in the NFL, in September 1993. The Orlando Sentinel reported that Bieniemy allegedly grabbed a female parking attendant by the neck and threatened her. The University of Colorado Boulder banned Bieniemy from its campus for one year as a result. “She stated that the male who grabbed her said something about ‘a bunch of Black males all at once being her worst nightmare,” the attendant told police, according to the arrest report. - According to the Daily Bruin, Colorado police arrested Bieniemy on a DUI charge in April 2001, three months after he joined the football staff as a running backs coach. He previously had his driver’s license suspended after numerous violations. - Bieniemy was also linked to allegations that Colorado’s football program “used alcohol and sex to lure recruits.” ESPN reported in 2004 that the university discovered there was evidence of drugs and alcohol being used to “entice recruits,” but no university officials were guilty of misconduct. Bieniemy left Colorado after the 2002 season to take the same position at UCLA.
Jonboy
Maybe this will also result in the NFL finally going to a lottery system like the NBA to prevent tanking.

Flores is off BB's Christmas card list now... We had this happen at work somewhat recently and someone sent full, itemized pricing and cost from one competitor to another because both were named, let's say, Mike. The competitor whose information was sent realized it and it was quite the shitstorm. They made an argument that the company which received their pricing and cost would be able to use it to target and undercut them moving forward, basically setting the stage for blaming us every time they lost a bid. These are both large companies that do a lot of work and that would be a lot of lost bids for a lot of money even in normal practice. Fortunately, I was able to kill the link that had been sent and we were able to review and verify that the link was never accessed while live. Interestingly, the other party DID try to access the link after we killed it and told them not to try. People were pretty pissed about that but I'm not sure how those conversations went. Anyway, long story still long ... we shut off autofill for email addresses.

Meh. To me, that is easier to manipulate by the league than just going by records. Hell, the Browns tanking all of those years eventually brought them up to mediocrity but not further. If the league could place a star rookie in a high profile franchise, it could be too much temptation.
