scine09
I made this thread for people to post random facts in that involve the Titans and/or other NFL teams but don't necessarily have a thread to go into. We can keep this one going when someone digs up a random stat, record, etc. Here's the first post that I thought was kind of interesting: Mahomes is now 3-4 in the regular season against AFC South teams and the Titans are the only team in the league that he's faced multiple times (regular season only of course) and hasn't beaten. The only other team he's lost to twice in the regular season is the Chargers, but he's 4-2 against them. For those counting he is 41-12 in the regular season as a starter. He has more regular season losses than against any other division, despite the fact that he's only faced AFC South teams in the regular season seven times and his own division 19 times. IrishTitansFan
Pretty unreal turnaround from last year. The Titans are shockingly an elite pass rushing defense

Of course. Vrabel and Jrob admitted that verbally and through action. They've shown themselves to be absolutely pragmatic, even to a fault, and I don't understand why that's ever questioned on this board.

We weren't doing so well with the latter, but it appears we have a handle on things now. If we had Weaver back it would really be nice to get him some reps. Hooker just got back. Weaver and Fulton sidelined. Dupree really gained confidence in the last game. It's all coming together. AND we are STILL not in our final form, the vision that Jrob & Vrabel put together in the offseason -- and to a greater extent what they envisioned when Jrob drafted two linebackers in the same draft w/only 4 picks (which he's been ridiculed for ad nauseum.) Hell, I was pissed when we drafted Fulton even though we had no plan for NB. Now we have Molden, Jackson AND Fulton playing well. In Jrob We Trust -- it continuously rears its ugly head just when we think we're smarter than him. Just look at the forest and stop focusing on the trees. The man is a top 5 GM. Ballard can't even carry his briefcase.

Yeah, but we now appear to have results to confirm that JRob was correct about the root cause of the issue.

In fairness, he picked the players that bombed out in 2020 so it was his to fix.

Some of the hold overs also have made huge improvements this season too. Byard, Simmons, Fulton, Hooker, Jackson, Long and Especially Landry. Is that a coincidence? I doubt it, I think they needed more talent and needed better coaching. After all the secondary against KC wasn't much better than the shit they were playing last year but the results were sure a lot better.

Yeah, it is difficult to separate all the variables, and it is easy to argue the coaching is also better. My current view is the dominate factor is the addition of Autry/Dupree making Simmons/Laundry even better and that badass four-man rush makes everyone behind look much better as well. Whatever the reason, I am just glad we have a potentially awesome D for the first time since ~2008.
