The outcome of the trial is a lock. He shouldn’t have even sent representation at all.

That's basically what my attorney told me about Trump's case....if you can't argue the law or the facts and you've got the votes, then sit down and stfu because all you can do is hurt yourself.

He doesn't need good lawyers or even bad lawyers or even lawyers. It's all irrelevant.

It’s what pisses me off about the Dems side. They should have made an example of the idiots. They were all there that day and their lives were in danger. It’s either an impeachable offense or it isn’t.

Instead, I watched them argue technicalities for over an hour. Just show the video and say case closed. We all know how they’re going to vote.

Who cares. This case was over before it even started.

Yep.  Two things will happen.  Historically he will be the only president to be impeached twice, and he’ll be the only president to have incited a riot against the capital.

His supporters, like most here, will simply ignore what just happened.  They’re too brainwashed to understand what just happened, but history will be unkind to them.

I’m not saying it’s over.  Much more shit to come in which they will ignore,  History will still be unkind to them, and they don’t realize it.

What was clear, and pointed out by some, is that Trump's lawyers were actually embarrassed to be in front of the world making the cases they were because there points were so ridiculous. You could see it in their faces.

Yesterday was strictly about the constitutionality of trying a former president which is why the argument was so technical.

Raskin and the Dems put forth a very professional, very convincing and for me disturbing and deeply sad presentation that, by itself, established that Trump should be in jail for life.

The Trump D team then underperformed your average 2L in moot court and 44 Republicans said the whole exercise is unconstitutional, an argument for which there is absolutely no support (and was not really made by Trump’s lawyers).

On the other hand, the defense was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

Sadly, I doubt many senators are approaching as an actual trial with an impartial jury making a decision based on the evidence presented.   Their votes are already cemented, regardless of evidence.
