Why would he wear the sock again after it was blamed for why he missed 4 kicks against the Broncos on opening weekend? .@Titans ST coach Craig Aukerman: We feel like kicker Stephen Gostkowski is striking the ball consistently, just tweaking things to make sure ball stays straight. Oiler FANatic Posted October 30, 2020 Report Share Posted October 30, 2020 He is 10-16 on FG's and 18-20 on XP's. Last season the Titans kickers went 8-18 on FG's and 50-52 on XP's. Sure they were simply awful in 2019. This isn't Gostkowski in his prime, but he is the 7th most accurate kicker in NFL history. It's painfully obvious from last year, they could do a lot worse. I admit I have not read 100% of the details about the quickly becoming infamous sock, specifically his history of sock wearing (or not) throughout his career. But my simple thought is this. Perhaps he usually wears a sock as the weather gets colder and this is the time of year he starts doing it. He might have used the sock all week in practice and felt good about wearing it again.
