Trump supporters despise liars over all else!!!!

Republicans are such a fascinating lot. They’re still on Benghazi when we’ve lost at least 130k Americans and Russia is putting bounties on our soldiers without a single peep.

At least let Joe get sworn in, what am I, some kind of monster?

There’s only been one private flight between South Bend and Wilmington in the last year, and its the one today.

The drive time between Detroit or Lansing to South Bend is about 2.5 hours.

Obviously I’m grasping at straws a bit here, but it would be similar to how masking VP travel has been done previously and makes good sense.

Buttigieg’s aide confirmed tonight that he was not on this flight.

“Joe Biden has interviewed his top choices either in person or remotely. Last week, for example, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer flew to Delaware to meet with him in person. Other meetings have been held either by telephone or video conferencing, said the people familiar with the process who were granted anonymity to speak frankly.”

“One senior aide said late Monday, "I've got my Day 0 and Day 1 and beyond plans [to announce the pick] in place. Now, we just need to know who it is."

“Another senior staffer said the decision remains a closely-guarded secret. "Honestly, they've done a pretty remarkable job of keeping this fully under wraps internally," said the staffer.“

Not sure how much it means that other meetings were held virtually while Whitmer met in person. And we know the interviews only happened after the list was narrowed to 4. So if some took place by phone and some by videoconference, you could deduce that at most only one other candidate met with him in person other than Whitmer, if any.

Its possible they may have leaked Whitmer’s visit on purpose since she was totally off the media radar, to try and get any criticism out ahead of time and avoid a major surprise out of left field.

One positive about Rice to me is that she seems least likely to be able to waltz to be the nominee in 2024 or 2028 and I don't necessarily love Harris or Whitmer who I think will have an easier time being the next presumptive nominee. I don't believe that Warren is actually in consideration.

What? “Governing”? How so?  Two are legislative and one is administrative.

All practical forms of “governing”. It doesn’t translate to being a governor.

Seems like a really liberal use of the word to me.

VP team in place:

"Liz Allen, most recently a managing director at the Glover Park Group consulting firm, will be the running mate’s communications director. Allen served as a Biden spokesperson in the White House and later Deputy White House Communications Director as President Barack Obama found increasingly creative ways to promote his second-term initiatives."

"Sheila Nix, who served as the chief of staff to Biden on the 2012 Obama reelection campaign and then joined Biden's team in the White House as chief of staff to second lady Jill Biden, will be a senior adviser to the running mate and her spouse. She comes to the running mate’s team from Tusk Strategies, where she focused on voter turnout initiatives."

"Karine Jean-Pierre, who recently joined the Biden campaign after serving as chief public affairs officer for MoveOn, will be the running mate’s chief of staff while continuing to serve as a senior adviser to Biden. Also transitioning from within the campaign, Vince Evans will serve as the running mate’s political director after serving as the campaign’s southern political director."

"Ryan Montoya, a veteran of the Obama White House and more recently chief technology officer for the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, will be the running mate’s director of scheduling and advance. Evan Glover, a member of the Biden campaign for more than a year and a former advance staffer for Biden in the White House, will be director of scheduling for the running mate. And Gina Lee, who worked for the Biden Foundation before joining the campaign’s finance team, will serve in the same role for the candidate’s spouse."

"Amanda Perez will be the running mate’s policy adviser, after serving as policy director for Cory Booker’s presidential bid. And rounding out the team will be Amijah Townsend-Holmes, serving as press assistant."

"With that in mind, the pick is also likely to have discretion to on-board at least some of their own staff to the campaign, to help bring institutional memory about her and familiarity to her that will be essential as the campaign progresses."

"The ramp-up for the new vice presidential candidate will be almost immediate. A Secret Service detail will be assigned to her as soon as the choice is communicated to the agency; 12 years ago, agents began arriving at Biden's Delaware home in the early hours of Saturday morning ahead of his formal unveiling as Obama’s running mate."
