Sounds like what they said about Mularkey... right before they fired him.

I also thought the same thing but what I first thought is exactly what she said.  She knows she won't find a more classy and harder working QB then Marcus.  But like what Marcus said that if they move on, he won't take it personal because it's a business first.

No one is rooting for the kid more than me.  All the respect in the world for him.  Just trying to be real with the whole situation.

The same exact thought popped up for me as well. I am thinking to myself i know she isn't gonna pull no dumb shit like forcing a player on coaches like Bud did. Back in 2006/2007 Jeff just accepted it along with Floyd. Now with JRob and Vrabel they aren't gonna just sit back and accept it they would reason with her to see things for what they are.

I am a big fan of JRob who i think is the best GM we've had since Floyd and i really like Vrabel and i really do hope that if Marcus fails that JRob/Vrabel get their chance to develop their own QB. As much as i like Mariota i like the team more and if he has to go he has to go.

I'm curious about why they keep announcing that Mariota is the starter. Is he or his agent that insecure?

Hey Private MikeTard, how’s things going in LaLa Memfrica Land with those two ugly grandchillin that you invented?

I wouldn't be unhappy at all if we got a OL in the 1st. Bring on Bradberry and we will have a kickass OL and we can all watch Henry shatter Eric Dickersons record like CJ did before the ref(Hoculi) cheated him out of it. We all know if we can run the ball we will be doing it plenty. If i recall back in '08/'09 we had a pretty good line then with Mawae/Roos/Stewart/Scott/Harris.

I sense some tension.......

They sign Tannehill, Vrabel announces they are going after a developmental QB, Mariota in his interview said it was nice to be in Hawaii(where he's appreciated or some such).

On 104.5 they theorized that the team gave Kuharsky the list of injuries because they let him look weak missing the final game and didn't really protect him from criticism. Hey look how tough he is!

Then Amy gives the ol, Damn I wish MM was going to be our franchise QB line

Probably just the pressure of being the last prove it year

This isn’t really news - of course she wants Mariota to be the franchise QB. So does Robinson and Vrabel.

Exactly.. they all do. The whole team does. And of course he has to stay healthy for a playoff push or the only chance he’s back in 2020 is if there’s no other better options.

This isnt news news at all.

The most newsworthy thing to me from that article was:

“We needed to do our part, too, to help Marcus, to get more pieces,” Strunk said.

Couple this with Vrabel’s line this morning about Strunk telling them what to do and them getting it done, and it makes you wonder whether the mandate to Vrabel/Robinson this offseason was to protect Marcus and to put more pieces around him (Humphries, Saffold) to give him every chance to succeed. Not that they wouldn’t be wanting to do that anyway.

Would make sense given her previous mandate to Mularkey.

C'mon guys.  We have beaten game tape and stats to death over this issue going back to November, mid season.

Nobody needed to tell Vrabel and JRob jack shit about the "weapons" on this team.  They knew what the issues were.  JRob talked about it before the season was over.

Spain was benched over it in the middle of a game.  Amy didn't call down to Vrabel and tell him to jerk the left Guard.

They didn't need to hear it from Amy.  They got to watch it every Monday in the film room.

They told her,...  Hey boss, I'm sorry, but we gotta spend some money.  This half-baked shit ain't gonna cut it.  We're going to get Marcus killed.

Wyatt on 3hl was pretty openly saying the QB they draft this year could be the starter next year depending on how things shake out.

He mentioned it remains to be seen how early they draft one.

He also mentioned they aren't going to rush Mariota back, but that he'll be ready for the season in September (!!).

I honestly think more likely than not Mariota isn't on this team next year. You just can't expect things to change dramatically for him and if the status quo continues he's gone.

It goes back to what I said right after we traded for Tannehill. Especially now that we know the extent of how injured he was and that he's not healed up yet.

I actually wonder if JRob is much more skeptical of Mariota's ability to bounce back from the nerve injury than anyone is letting on. Tannehill provides a lot of insurance if Mariota's not fully healed or still has lingering problems.

I mean, the guy has nerve issues all season and re-aggregated it multiple times to the point where it was rumored he was risking permanent disability by playing week 17!

They aren't outright saying he's all healed up either. The way they're talking about it just makes me skeptical. Maybe I'm being too much of a conspiracy theorist but it really doesn't seem that crazy to me.
