No. By that I mean all of the "Hillary is the inevitable candidate" bullshit that blew up in the establishment's faces last time around. The narrative pushed by the Hillary fans was that she was the only electable candidate and to stand against her was somehow sexist and inherently wrong. Much of the hate Bernie still gets was from daring to oppose queen Hillary. She was pushed down our throats as the "electable" candidate and proceeded to not be elected to a damn thing. Of course, we shall see over the next several months. I think he benefits from most people just associating him with the warm glow of the Obama administration for now. And yes, plenty of Hillary supporters hate Bernie because she went into the general weaker because of Bernie. And if not for the opposition to Hillary from the Bernie Bros, she wins the general election. That was enough to swing a few close battleground states. Biden's record of progressivism and accomplishment extends decades before Obama was ever on the political scene, as well as his likability. Snarky/cynical shit and hostility from leftists in the Democratic Party like "we'll see how long that lasts" isn't helpful. It's going to do nothing but harm the candidate we need to be strong going into the general election in order to oust Trump. It's lasted about 40 years, I'm sure it'll keep "lasting." I didn't see it as snarky/cynical at all, but an intelligent and realistic observation. Do you have any idea how many times Biden has run for the Democratic nomination, and fallen on his face? Once could be an aberration, more than once is a pattern. I think it is sticking your head in the sand not to acknowledge that Biden has proven to be a flawed presidential candidate in the past. And I think it is definitely fair to point out that his poll numbers right now benefit greatly from name recognition and an association with Obama. Sorry man, I like Joe but ain't nobody ready to crown him yet. This is sort of starting to seem personal. I mean the guy posts a poll that looks great for your boy and you attack him. Things shouldn't be this way. I love that Bernie will be challenged by a well rounded field of candidates as it will ensure we put forth the best chance to defeat Trump. Trump decimated a murderer's row of annointed republican insiders and still managed to win. If a primary is too much for you to handle then you probably shouldn't have been the nominee. 2020 is shaping up to be much more inclusive than 2016 was and because of this I'll have faith that whoever emerges from this field will be worthy of all of our support. Just pointing out another example of a liberal on Twitter basically seething at the idea that Biden is so likable and closet rooting for his downfall. Biden did of course lose primary elections before but likability wasn’t the issue. I understand not wanting to “crown” him, but a lot of Dems are openly hostile and I’m afraid that will have consequences if he’s the nominee down the road. It just frustrates me that the parties these days are gravitating toward the extremes of the political spectrum and “centrist” is becoming a bad word in many Democratic circles. That's what a primary is... picking the nominee. Last time the voters picked Hillary. You need to get over it. I voted for Bernie in the primary. Bernie lost. I still managed to vote my politics and support Hillary. If all liberals sucked it up and got their act together Trump wouldn’t be president today. I’m not a child or Bernie Bro who throws a tantrum when I don’t get my way. I’m going to vote for whoever the Democrats nominate this time, regardless of whether they are my preferred candidate. And I can assure you that if the Bernie Bros or Bidenites or whatever extremist sect of the Democrat/liberal sphere of influence has another tantrum and refuses to vote for the liberal candidate then Trump will win again.
