He could have easily tackled Hilton right after the catch, but instead he pushed him in the back hoping he would fall down. Unfortunately, Hilton kept his balance and because Jackson pushed him instead of tackling him, Adoree lost a half step and blew his opportunity to make a tackle. nine Posted November 20, 2018 Report Share Posted November 20, 2018 After re-watching the game, my earlier assessment of Adoree's performance may have been a bit harsh....but the fact is, it was by far the worst game of his career. As outstanding as he was against the Pats....he was the exact opposite against the Colts. His biggest contributions all day came by tackling his man after the catch; I don't recall a single play where was he in a position to make a play and knock a ball down. (Well, except for the one play where he ran over Hilton to draw a 40-50 yard DPI.) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
titanruss Posted November 20, 2018 Report Share Posted November 20, 2018 we needed to give adoree help. hes small and quick and can jump through the roof. so he can defend bigger guys. its hard for anyone to defend a small quick guy by themselves especially when the QB is on fire. I have to give credit to luck. I didnt think he could throw that deep ball.. but again I guess adoree could have picked it off if he had made the play on it. I honestly believe the board overrated TT. He isn't as quick as his 3 cone suggests and he wasn't the polished route-runner he was touted as coming out of college. That said I don't think we've used him properly. Rather than make him stretch the field vertically we should be using him to feast on crossing routes across the middle. I just dont think he’s a great route runner or dynamic in space with the ball. But he’s fast and athletic enough to get open often if he honed his skills. It’s when he does get open that he gets too excited. We used to always buy that line that it takes receivers 3-4 years to get used to the league. Defenses have figured that out with Sharpe. Yes he's a great route runner when he's left alone, but his location and timing are easily disrupted, especially early in the route. The thing that both those teams last night had that we don't is a credible deep threat besides the main guy; that makes coverages way more difficult.
