Gotta love the fact the Lakers are so hated/feared teams call others to persuade them not to trade with LA and an organization won't allow their MVP potential filled PG to seek advice from the greatest. Now the NBA is looking into if LA violated any BS rule for Simmons contacting Magic. Lmao Magic gets fined for saying Giannis will bring MIL a title. Meanwhile MIL still hasnt been fined for saying they wish Anthony Davis would come to MIL. My God. Only the Lakers can do wrong. Only the Lakers are ever stopped from trying to make their team better. Theyve won 16 Championships while a bunch of Organizations in the NBA have never been to the finals. It was inevitable that other franchises have turn against LA.

Never said they couldn’t be. I asked who would drop out? SA and Utah are solid teams. SAC is a younger team that could continue to improve. I think a healthy Lakers team can jump in front of those 3 but which one of them drops out?

It was a reported rumor of why they wouldn’t trade AD at trade deadline. They wanted their new GM to decided the fate of the franchise rather than someone they planned to fire. CaliTitan3518
I think Walton is a good coach. It’s hard to win in the NBA without superstars. I don’t think he deserves to be fired. The way I see it is this is Lebron and Magic’s team and the coach doesn’t really matter. If they struggle Walton will be the scapegoat. It has been this way for almost every LBJ lead team.
NashvilleNinja
Idk if others have read this. It was published nearly three years ago. It's an "insider" piece on how the Orlando Magic lost Shaquille O'Neal to the Lakers back in 1996. I remember being so pissed off at Shaq for leaving back then and not understanding why, but after reading this it's no wonder Shaq left. The Magic were run by fucking morons. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/the-inside-story-how-the-orlando-magic-let-the-lakers-steal-shaquille-oneal/

Does Walton deserve to be fired? Would whether they make the playoffs or not make a difference? Anyone who has been keeping up with NBA talk knows this has been a question in the media for a while. Even before rumors from the LBJ camp were he wants Luke gone. But hearing LBJs comments the other day got me thinking about this again. He said he is, only now, going to up the intensity. I get it, hes 34, has to preserve himself. Totally understand. But hearing that leads me to believe his intensity obviously hasnt been there all season. So even with that being the case, Luke had LA sitting 4th, 7 games above .500, 30 games in. Then we got hit by the injury bug. Then we had Magic trying to trade our entire team for AD. Given that, given the player our teams philosophy is being built around had missed a month and a half and the games he did play, he self-admittedly wasnt even at his highest level, what more can you expect from a coach? Haven't watched the Lakers much this year, so hard to comment on Walton and how good he is. But based on what has gone on this season with the injuries and all, Walton does not deserve to be fired. Lakers were never expected to be at the top in the standings even at full health. I think the Sixers should fire Brown.
wiscotitansfan
Coaches rarely "deserve" to be fired, it's usually just a media or fan hype thing..... Same with football, there are great coaches and there are terrible coaches, the rest don't matter. That's less glaring with the NBA that everyone is exactly the same but the sentiment holds true though So no, I don't think the Lakers have a guy who is actively hurting his team by being the coach

Why should the young guys give their all and bust their ass for LBJ if he just gonna stand around? Very little effort on D. Unless that changes they won't be in the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if this is intentional to ensure Walton gets fired. Lebron is taking it easy. He will turn it on when he needs to. Lakers not make playoffs? What happened to the Lakers are a lock claims?
CaliTitan3518
11 minutes ago, JakePA_Titan said: Well as I said, unless he does.... I didn't say they weren't going to. I said IF this doesn't happen that will be the case and you know this... They should, but not if their supposed leader is giving minimal effort on D, no. Ppl said LBJ really only needed a legit #2 in order to get them to the playoffs, BI has been stepping up and being his #2 as if late. You said he'll turn it on when he needs to, so you must still think they are. So why ask me even though I've already given my answer? And Idk if you've noticed, but he continues to blame the team. Sure doesn't seem to think he is apart of the issue. I don’t think they are a lock to make playoffs. I’ve said since the time they signed him they were going to struggle to make the playoffs. The west is far too competitive for them to be a lock. I said you have to win 50 games to be a lock. If you don’t win 50 it’s probably going to be decided by 2-3 games. Lakers have shown they can be good. They just need to get back to that and be consistent. I think Lebron is trying to get these young guys to step up. He’s going about it how he wants. He will take over the team when he needs to. I think they make playoffs but that doesn’t mean I think they are a lock.

Providing good health, they would have been a lock and you know it. Shit happens. But more than half the wests playoff teams to be didnt have the injury issues we did. Really only HOU did. Injuries are a part of it. Of course if they didn’t have injuries they would have a better chance. You would have to guaranteed me they wouldn’t suffer a significant injury and other teams have the possibility for injuries for me to consider them a lock. Lebron is 34 and coming off a 100+ game season. His body was bound to get hit with an injury. They got hit with other injuries at the same time which was some bad luck.
