watching replay...the tackle on Lewis by Jones...the play after Lewis did that sick spin move where he never got touched.

anyway the tackle IMO was equally as bad as the one that Butler got called on.

Jones picked him up and drove his shoulder into him with all his body weight.  ref looking right at it

It doesn't matter.  We've seen awful officiating and blatant attempts by officiating to ensure certain teams win games...but nobody does anything about it.  We come back the following week and hope to god it's another team that gets stuck with biased crews or those doing the leagues bidding.

It's depressing really.  With politics aside, we have a game that is constantly being fucked with through rule changes that don't solve a thing, while the rules that aren't fucked with are only called haphazardly.  The league has little to no parody while we keep buying the line that the salary cap keeps things fair so the small market teams can mooch off the larger fan bases and keep putting out a subpar product.  Everything on game day is overpriced and unreasonable, from tickets to parking to beer.  Add in Goodell playing favorites with the conduct policy, and it's a fucking mess.

But nothing will be done.  I've been an Oilers/Titans fan my entire life, but for the past two years, I've not spent a single dime on anything Titans or NFL.  I tune in via Titans Radio so I can be disgusted most of the time, but for fuck sake, at some point don't the fans have to have enough?  I have.

Even if we cut them slack for the holding  call...the fact remains that Boger's crew badly mismanaged the game, which has been a consistent and ongoing theme with his crew for years.

Their handling of the interception play and the ensuing melee was utterly dumbfounding to me.

First, they allowed the intercepting player to get up and run after being touched down....and when asked, they refused to take a second look at it.  Then it took them 5+ minutes of discussion and a phone call to Park Avenue to figure out what just happened...after which they didn't even mention whatever infraction it was that drew a flag in the first place.

Utterly dumbfounding and completely indefensible, IMO

It's been a complete joke for sometime now.  Can't hold the bastards accountable for anything anymore.  Whatever they say goes.  Being able to do that without any repercussions whatsoever should be illegal.  I try to always check on which crew is Reffing a game before I bet on it.  Those idiots don't get a pass from me, I can tell ya that shit.

As a Head Coach, I wouldn't care if it cost my team 15 yards and a timeout,  or whatever, I would protest it and withhold my team from playing on the field until the Refs were made to review the replay and uphold any call if I thought it would change the outcome of the game.

It will probably never happen, but I'd like to be able to hear the Refs talking to each other on their headsets when shit like that goes down.  Or at any time really, just to hear what the bastards are saying.  Sort of like when players are mic'ed up.  You'd probably hear all kinds of wild shit.

FREEDOM!!!

Vrabel's announcement that the league said 8 of the 10 things he sent the league came back in his favor is nothing more than excuse making. So what? The league announces they got calls wrong all the time. Nothing is getting overturned so what good does it do? Someone should have asked him if he thought that meant the team really won the game.

Did you listen to the rest of his presser? He kept talking about how it's not an excuse. And working with the cards dealt to him. Referencing that 8 out of 10 calls came back in our favour means he now has clarity on what is legal and not. Things like the Mariota hit were a grey area cause Boger said it was legal, clearly he was wrong.

Yea I listened, after the media started asking questions he realized how it sounded and he even sounded a little embarrassed he went there.

He should have focused on what the coaches needed to correct, execution and things within the team's control.

I thought our offense started quite well. I'm gonna give them a bit of a pass in terms of the execution element week one. No one can prepare for a game that lasts 7 hours with two long breaks. Has to be the toughest week one game for a HC that I've seen in a long time when you include all the injuries (losing our most important receiver for the season hurts bad) and the terrible officiating.
