earlers
I just have a feeling this “leader of men” is going to come back and haunt us. Titans PR should cut that off now.

Much will hinge on the OC hire. But I think Vrabel could be an effective CEO-type HC. This is my hope... IMO a HC shouldn't be tied to a system

It is disingenuous to bring a guy in for what's really an OC interview in the guise of a HC interview. No it’s not. It exposes him as a legit candidate and gives interview experience. Vrabel would have been around in a week. They should have interviewed more guys. If it doesn’t work out we are fucked. Robinson made a power move that won’t happen again. If Vrabel flames out it’s literally right back to the idiots making choices.

socaltitan
The biggest issue with Haley is his personality. He seems to wear out his welcome. But his offenses have been largely successful. He's an experienced OC (8 seasons), but is still a young guy (50). If he's our OC, we'll be running way more shotgun and throwing the ball more. I think Corey's #s could shoot way up next season.

I'm getting offers and I want you to be my OC. I believe LaFleur wants to call plays and move up. He doesn't have that in L.A. Then you get one call for a coaching job and it's the one Vrabel is applying for. You have to interview for it. In that interview they explain that if they don't choose you at HC would you be interested in being an OC? I don't see anything wrong with that process. If Vrabel and LaFleur are in cahoots he wouldn't be shocked by anything. ---- But hey, you're right end up being just rumors from an L.A. writer. Btowner
Maybe it's Fisher fatigue. I never like when the media wants to tell me someone is or will be a great HC. Especially when they are inexperienced or doesn't have a proven track record back up their claims. Vrabel has one year as a DC. Even before the injuries in Houston, the defense was not performing at the same level as it did under Crennel. With that said, if he hires the right coordinators, this might work. Thinking about this hire. If Mariota is the priority, of all of the HC candidates, which one has studied his weaknesses and was involved with the game plans to defend him more than Vrabel? Guest
Like most people, the speed of the hire bothers me some, but I'm pretty optimistic about this hire. Although his tenure has been short, Vrabel has coached under both Urban Meyer and Bill B and he has experience in the AFC south. He wasn't JAG as a player, and has the kind of vibe that demonstrates he'll be able to continue to build culture and be a leader without the stubborn inflexibility Mularkey showed. We also hired a coach that football minds/media minds think is a good fit and a coach other teams wanted to hire. I like that. And none of the other candidates we were looking at really blew me away. Wilks was good. I liked Flip like a lot of people, but I feel like people were gushing over him a bit too much-that video breakdown might as well be footage of Christ returning to Earth the way people on this board talk about it. I think there's a great chance he's the OC. If we could hire him with the caveat of not telling MM he can't audible then he’’s my selection.
