Yes, I just wish he would sign somewhere and then lose a bunch and taint his legacy. But he just uses this crap to get a bigger ESPN contract every time.

ESPN are hemorrhaging viewers/money/staff at the moment, Gruden isn't getting an upgraded contract from them.

its highly likely ESPN lose MNF rights when the next contract negotiations are due.

Gruden's history doesn't show that he is good at developing QBs. His success came with established veterans.

I guess it's a flashy move lacking substance which fits well with their move to Vegas though.

Carr is a veteran. It’ll be his 5th year in the league next year

I’m more saying what he has done in the past. Gruden always dangles the “I might go back to coaching” out there so that he always has “competition” for media contracts. If it’s not ESPN he will go elsewhere and do MNF. I don’t think he truly wants to come back and coach. Espically not for the Raiders, a team he grew to despise because of how they treated him.

Hasn’t espn reported it every single year around this time when his name is brought up?

Gruden may be the single most overrated head coach in NFL history.

At no point in his career has Gruden ever built a Super Bowl winning roster or developed a  starting-caliber QB, and he hasn't won a postseason game since 2002.

He won a Super Bowl with Tony Dungy's roster fifteen years ago....and hasn't done squat since.  I have absolutely no idea why anyone would want him coaching a team in this day and age.
