Look, the bottom line is the simple fact that if you draft a corner with one of your two 1st round picks, you expect to start him from the day one, and especially if your defense is coming off a complete make-over in the secondary. Better to throw him in there now and let him go through his NFL growing pains.

This is one of the most uniformed statements I've seen on here in quite some time. Jackson is raw and needs time to grow. Its very common for DBs to be brought along slowly.

Doubtful. You're going back and forth here. Is Ryan moving inside or not?

Ryan is playing in the slot, McCain might play in the nickel defense. Meaning on the field, I don't mean playing in the actual slot

If they start McCain in the nickel, which means Ryan is always outside,  or even worse McCain is outside, then you're misusing the guy you just paid ten million while losing valuable reps for your future outside CB. Jackson needs to start in the nickel outside with Ryan moving inside. We will get scorched if Ryan is always outside and the terrible guy who has never been anything but mediocre is our starting three with a second year guy in Sims.

It could be said and determined 50/50, depending on the coaching staff and franchise position. Question is if you really believe that Sims or anyone else is that much better to secure the secondary? This franchise has historically wasted high picks on high profile position players, especially at wide receiver. I'd hate to think that we wasted a first round pick on a kid that's gonna take an entire season to develop.

If McCain starts in the nickel and isn't inside then you have a slot guy who is terrible playing outside. I'll lose a lot of faith if that's the case.

Ryan is playing inside

What in God's name have you seen that makes you think Jackson needs to play outside in the nickel over McCain or anyone?
